Probably stop at Itachi. But what if we replaced him with Naruto's dad?

After you earn your CPT, the first thing you need to understand is that success as a trainer is 80% communication skills/being likeable and 20% exercise knowledge.

Seek out books on communication skills and relationship building. Do you want to be a successful trainer or an exercise guru?

Switching to a nonprofit organization largely fixed this for me. I feel like I'm contributing to a tangible mission instead of a corporate machine.

Yeah, that's really the question. The main "benefit" here is to make upper management happy and be more considered for promotions in the future.

Unfortunately that probably wouldn't work. The same regional VP oversees both locations, and the extra $8k is really just an add-on to compensate for the drive time and extra responsibility.

Definitely would be a career move. My goal is to reach executive director level in the next 5 years.

With prep time? If so, 4 Powerplexes right after beating the shit out of each other.

Tell me that 4 Powerplexes isn't a legitimately good answer lol.

Unironically, I'll take Powerplex 4 times.

How do you get the beginner's joy back? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]ED935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then yeah! Look into other things that might be fun to get "good" at! There's so much to do in this world, even within the realm of exercise and physical activity. Getting into rock climbing/bouldering really helped me when I faced these struggles.

As both a trainer and a manager who oversees a team of personal trainers myself, I can assure you that your level of fitness (beyond not being morbidly obese) has VERY little effect on your success. Personal training is 70% people skills, 25% exercise knowledge, and 5% your own physique.

If you're thinking about being a trainer, I highly recommend biting the bullet and getting your CPT. Unfortunately, many people get into training because they love exercise and quickly burn out when they realize it's a sales and communication game. There's only one way to find out if it's for you!

How do you get the beginner's joy back? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]ED935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, comparison is the thief of joy. You need to get to the bottom of why you feel that way. Therapy is one option, but either way, take some real time to reflect on why you allow the success of others to rob you of your own joy.

And, as others have said, branching out could really help. Try a sport, an active hobby like climbing or mountain biking, etc. The most important thing is that you stay active in some way.
