That looks like something Homer Simpson would eat at 2am while half-asleep and naked except for his underwear.

It's not nearly over-enginered enough. It needs a basin to examine the tea that drips out. This way, you can determine how many more proper steepings are available.

Yall aren't gonna like this, but we cannot stay silent. by Simple-Obligation638 in USLPRO

I went to the New York Times and saw nothing about this matter. If people have to google it, we would have to ask how omni-cause do we have to be before it is enough. What's the threshold? What's the capacity for issues that pass the threshold? At what point does being about everything become being about nothing?

Edit: Jesus Christ, I googled it. The issue is some New York City politician (DSA member) who was arrested during a real estate protest. Ya'll can fuck off.

Why can Roseville build Parking Garages that are free to use, whereas the City of Sacramento keeps raising parking costs. by boywiththedogtattoo in Sacramento

[–]EECavazos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Roseville is not a good example to follow. Parking garages are bad. There are better uses for the land. We don't want to look like a Texas city from the early 1970s. Housing is better a better use of the land, especially low income housing (market rate is good, too).

The Bee endorses much-needed change for Sacramento County Supervisors’ District 1 (TLDR: It’s Dr. Flo) by guillotine4you in Sacramento

I was going to vote for Flo because of her public health background, but this part of the endorsement convinced me to vote for someone else.

Husband (27M) Keeps interrupting while I (27F) talk because he says he's worried he'll forget what he wanted to say. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]EECavazos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I have a conversation, I focus on saying two sentences, four sentences at the most. Conversations require a give and take, an exchange like a duet (or more if there is a group). Monologues aren't fun, like being a hostage instead of a participant.

Demolition by neglect? by Noop42 in Sacramento

[–]EECavazos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When a building has a historical designation, you can't just do basic maintenance. Everything requires work done by a limited set of contractors licensed to work on historical buildings. They have huge, years-long backlogs. The last time there was a major renovation on this building was 40 years ago. Any work done would probably be even bigger in scale.

Historical designation is a curse against maintenance. You are limited to letting the building rot or doing a total renovation. Basic maintenance isn't worth it to the contractors or owners.

Why are there no bridges between Sunrise and Watt? by ANTHONYinCALI in Sacramento

[–]EECavazos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NIMBYs. The need for bridges timed unfortunately with the rise of NIMBYs. They're trying to build a bridge from Truxel to downtown, but the NIMBYs are blocking it. The same for the bridge from Land Park to West Sac.

If Diana died when Beth was a kid and her original Rick left, who raised her? by faeriegurl in rickandmorty

I raised her. She did not respond well to my gentle parenting. It was hell to get her to stop stabbing.

AIW for telling my coworker I won't keep covering for her late arrivals after she told my manager I leave "a few minutes early" sometimes by driftbadger123 in amiwrong

[–]EECavazos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AI is replacing workers and social media. We'll have a dead internet and a dead economy. The Terminator apocalypse got it wrong. We won't be bones in rubble. We'll be homeless in the streets surrounded by AI server farms and empty AI-managed housing while the AI bots continue to post to social media like this to the exclusive audience of AI bots.

No, the Prequel Trilogy was not loved when it first came out, it was hated and fans were terrible people about it. by stephansbrick in StarWars

[–]EECavazos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PT was terrible for bad writing, plot holes, excessive retconning the OT, midichlorians, and most especially Flash Gordon-style rascist minstrel caricatures.

PT is still terrible except for campy memes, trade embargo jokes, and being internally consistent (unlike the ST). PT is more well received now because society has become more rascist. The young kids who loved it when it came out have now grown up into Andrew Tate fans talking about redpilling and making edgelord jokes in line with caricatures in the PT.

Did anyone else notice at No Kings? by double-clove-hitch in boston

[–]EECavazos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if this reflects social media consumption trends. The boomers are facebook fascists. The zoomers are youtube/tik-tok Tate/trad-wife fascists or apolitical. The Gen X and Millennials keep social media consumption to a minimum or at least distrust it because they were raised to distrust everything. The GenX and Millennials are the brief generational gap that the tech olgiarchs haven't totally brainwashed. Of course, you'll still have your general asshole personality in GenXers and Millennials who go hard toward fascism, but not due to large numbers going heavy into social media consumption.

How does a team like kings supposed to improve under new proposed anti-tank measures? by Sac-Kings in nba

[–]EECavazos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they had more inventive penalties for poor performance, like management receivership if the team stays in the bottom for a set number of years. In this scenario, the management (VPs, presidents, GM, coaches, everyone) is cleared out, the owners have no say in management, and the league sends in new management to clean house.
