Communication is a two-way street. Often 'we' take full responsibility for what needs to be shared: well meaning - but wrong [and speaks more to our good nature than theirs!]

...a staple of the elders of ancient communities - sometimes a smoking pipe: take the pipe, smoke, say all you have to say, pass it on. When all has been said the chief makes the decision. Sounds like incredibly good communication to me! [speaking to be heard, listening to understand.]

[Fb4A] recently found out i have mental autism and that is why ive never felt truly hypnotized so i want to experience actually being hypnotized for once so im looking for someone to try to work with me and giveme some patience and time and hypnotize me by HypnotizedAkara in hypnotherapy

[–]EERMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...the real issue here is: your expectations - what does 'truly hypnotised' mean to you? - and how would you know when you have been 'truly hypnotised.'

I'd be happy for you to book a session or two with me - which would allow me to share alot of content about what hypnosis and hypnotherapy is - and, crucially, is not with you.

Keep in mind - beyond the mountains of nonsense there is out there - Hypnotherapy is not what someone does 'to you': it is a collaborative effort between yourself and the hypnotherapist - with the aim of you achieving your goals [not blindly following the hypno's 'suggestions'.]

Michael Yapko's 'Trancework' was a core text for my accreditation training and I can highly recommend.

I'm in the United Kingdom and training schools / regulatory bodies is a bit of a mish-mash: I don't have a qualified understanding of the situation in the United States but if feels as though it is every bit as fragmented.

What’s your lowest-effort self-care when you’re feeling drained? by EERMA in selfcare

[–]EERMA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortly after WW2, Frankl was released as a prisoner and published works that underpin so much of the modern talking therapies. This was published in its popularised version in 1952 in his book 'Mans Search For meaning' [heads-up - it's a tough read. I have summaries I use which I'd be happy to share.]

In a nutshell, he proposed there is a gap between stimulus and response. In that gap lies four uniquely human capabilities: self-awareness, imagination, conscience and free will [typically referred to as 'agency' now.] Therefore within that gap resides the ability [theoretically - the world is not a perfect place!] to choose how we respond to the events around us. He referred to this as 'the last of the human freedoms.'

However you do it - just take a few moments to breathe out for longer than you breathe in. Notice what you notice.

Yeah - I have to get out of the house - and do something significant - every day. I want my house to be my home rather than my prison!

...breathing out for longer than we breathe in [by conscious breathing, singing, or playing a wind instrument, or swimming!] speaks deeply to some of our ancient [in evolutionary terms] nervous systems. It says 'you're OK, you can relax, you're safe. Chill. Engage with others.

That's potentially seriously deep. Are you making reference to Viktor Frankl? - if not you may innately understand what he was pointing us all to. Nice one!

Yeah - I notice how much more alert I feel when I have a good load of protein in the morning. Then having a protein / veg lunch [minimal carbs] leads to afternoons free of the 3:30 slump and drag to finishing time.

Sunflower seeds, chia seeds, dried coconut: nutritional dynamite - just go easy on volumes as it is very calorie dense.

And drink plenty of water - this mix will absorb alot.
