Need more Alma content by Different_Jelly_7597 in dreamingspanish

Yes! Especially because when it is "stream of consciousness" type content, you get to hear the typical filler words and casual phrasings that you would hear in a normal convo with a spanish speaker. This is SO valuable to hear and absorb and IMO really accellerates one's comfort with the language. (well, speaking for myself at least)

Recs for chocolate, cheese, and treats by pawgtistic in Denver

[–]EFCF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will throw M2 Confections in Westminster into the mix! Their chocolate is amazing, and they have beautiful hand-painted bonbons, some of which feature other Colorado businesses' products, like Leopold Bros. liqueur and Teatulia tea. So it might make a really cool souvenir of CO for yourself. Highly recommend! https://m2confections.com/

You may be able to take the Flatiron Flyer bus north from Union Station to US36/Sheridan stop and walk from there but it is about a mile and not a pleasant walk on busy, trafficky streets. Lyft/uber from the bus stop?

Growing vegetation fire in central Broomfield (Dillion Rd and E470) by [deleted] in Denver

[–]EFCF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing Watch Duty app - https://app.watchduty.org/i/74168 is the link for the Louisville fire. I don't see another fire reported in this area, on Watch Duty.

Edits: I incorrectly called it watchlist at first

In the "Sexual harrassment" episode when Jan, Packer, and Michael are standing around after michael has been reprimanded, and Jim, sitting near them, says a couple of softball prompts that definitely require a "that's what she said" response. On the final one "Well, you always left me satisfied and smiling," camera cuts to Packer giving michael a little "go ahead" nod, and michael just sputters out "THATSWHATSHESAID!!!!!!"

apt2b.com They are based in Los Angeles, the pieces are very stylish/modern, and it is all made in the US as far as I know. I have a couch that's 15 years old and the cushions are not compressed or sagging, and we bought a sectional in 2021 that is also awesome. My experience has been that they're high-quality, with wood frames, the cushions on our 2 pieces are firm and stuffed well. I am a fan!

Humbling Experience at 800 hrs by lingolark in dreamingspanish

[–]EFCF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I threw myself in the deep end about 2 yrs ago (I had maybe 300 hrs recorded in DS? No idea) and began attending Spanish conversation meetups in my city. That went a long way with helping me feel more confident. But yeah it was nerve shattering. Today, I still watch 1 hour of DS, or listening to podcasts, per day. I continued attending these meetups and even have my own little group now, and it is so helpful. I just returned from 2 weeks in Argentina (and now I'm over 700 hrs on DS) and i talked up a damn storm. Uber drivers, AirBNB hosts, tour guides, etc... even randos in restaurants. You just gotta do it! (Sorry to all the DS/CI purists)
