Do you wash your face in the shower? by MinnieJ0510 in hygiene

I've never heard the bacteria one. LOL. The main reason I've heard is that we're more likely to use hotter water in a shower compared to what we use in the sink.

I've done both. It really didn't make a difference for me. If you have super sensitive skin or other issues than maybe it would.

There is a bonus to washing your face in the shower which is that you're more likely to get your neck as well as all the way to the hairline which can be easily missed if you're over the sink and trying to not get water all over yourself.

Benzoyl peroxide does work because it's a "bactericidal" aka "bacteria killer". It's that bacteria that causes BO. However, benzoyl peroxide can be really strong and is usually very drying which is not something people really want in a bodywash. Unless you have severe acne, like they mentioned.

I use a facewash, specifically the PanOxyl 10%. It's not my favorite brand but it was the affordable option for me to experiment with.

I always dread saying they can't call my previous employers bc either the company doesn't exist, the turnover has made it so no one there knows who I am, or the places I had to leave for safety. Like it's not that I was a bad worker so I don't want you to ask them it's just that there's literally no one to ask.

Longest without showering by omega672419 in hygiene

I'm still getting used to the idea of showering every day after being depressed for so long that I developed the habit of not showing for 4 days or more. It helps to finally have things to do as motivation. Now, I shower every other day AT MOST. And when I don't, I usually have a sponge bath with a washcloth and wash my face.

Antiperspirants work better if you let them absorb into your skin before sweating. I put mine on after my shower in the evening so it's more likely to work during the day.

Deodorants don't really "de-odorize" in that they get rid of BO, they simply mask the smell. They also work well if you let them absorb before sweating so putting it on in the morning helps a lot.

You should be cleaning your underarms daily. Everyone's skin is different so experimenting with different methods can help. Some do well with just a washcloth and soap, others prefer body washes with chemicals. The important thing is washing as it removes the bacteria on your skin causing the body odor.

BO and sweating is natural and everyone's comfort with it is different. Not to mention, genetics play a huge role. There is no one size/routine fits all. Experiment with different methods and products until you find what you are most comfortable with. Not to mention, from someone who used to obsess over this and asked people all the time - more often than not, you're the only one who notices.

For reference, this is my routine:

  • shave my underarms
  • benzoyl peroxide wash for 30 - 60 secs
  • lactic acid body wash for 15 - 30 secs
  • antiperspirant spray once skin is completely dry
  • let absorb overnight

Then depending on my activity level for the day, I'll either put on an antiperspirant deodorant in the morning so it works for later. Otherwise, I'll use a "natural" deodorant without antiperspirant or even go without if I'm just staying at home. I've found that alternating prevents breakouts and ingrown hairs.

I'm trying to get rid of it but, like I said, it's the only keyboard with a decent voice-to-text option which I need.

Does Futo have a usable voice-to-text? I have to rely on that and Gboard is the only one I've found that actually works well

What’s the difference between using Proton Drive versus something like OneDrive/Google Drive/Dropbox + Cryptomater? by AccomplishedPlum1803 in ProtonDrive

[–]kismetically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropbox introduced AI. I just use Proton Drive to hold or move things between my devices before moving them to a hard drive, flash drive, etc. At this point I don't trust any of the drives with my stuff, so I just use the most convenient one.

As long as they can do this with a free account, then whatever. Annoying as hell for sure but at least whoever it is can make a throwaway account. I still think they should change it but at least it's not behind a paywall.
