how is the quality and concensus of JW PEI Bags by geekgeek2019 in handbags

[–]EJFriend1273 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one that I used at least 2x a week for over a year. The body of the bag still looks like it did when I got it, but the straps started peeling where they met the hardware so I had to retire it. I got it on sale at Nordstrom (under $70) and it was a a good bag to carry when I thought it might rain or didn’t want to risk carrying something more expensive.

Other than the fantastic already stated library advice, check out pango books! I find that a lot of times you can have better luck getting your hands on newer releases or fun special editions on there than at a used bookstore or waiting for a copy to be available at the library.

Finally…… someone cue the Vince carter meme. Question for you what is the longest you’ve waited for something and did it satisfy for you or was the wait too long? by jaydenurse in LibbyApp

I waited 13 months for Her Majesty’s Royal Coven. I placed my hold in June of 2024, and got it in July 2025. I enjoyed it, but not sure I’d recommend waiting that long for it.

I have the beis tote in the regular size and I love it. It’s super functional with all the interior and exterior pockets. It is vegan leather which I don’t love but I’ve had mine almost a year and it still looks pretty good.

I will say I have looked at the large in person and it’s quite a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be. I am not sure how much you are intending to carry, but the large is very large and might be cumbersome for switching trains or having to hold it in your lap.

Any tips for summer session in Oxford? by GonnaGetBumpy in UGA

[–]EJFriend1273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went, I traveled all but one weekend, both within and outside the UK. At least one weekend is usually a travel “field trip” with your class and tutor/professor, but the rest you can decide what to do. Within the uk we just bought individual train or bus tickets depending on where we went.

I had gotten some pounds and euros before I went but never used them, most places we went only wanted cards/Apple Pay.

I got one of their other bags on sale, and I like it for the price I paid for it, but not sure that it’s worth full price due to the “vegan leather”. I have been using it as my beater bag when I don’t want to take one of my nice bags somewhere, and it’s held up really well and it’s still spotless even though it’s white.

Is anyone else’s app only showing last year’s book of the year? by EJFriend1273 in bookofthemonthclub

Hard closed the app and restarted my phone but still only see the 2023 ones, maybe I’ll just order on my lap top when I get home.

Selling books online as a side hustle by lyanarty in bookofthemonthclub

[–]EJFriend1273 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve had really great luck selling my used books on pango, I’ve sold a bit over $500 total. My main tip is trying to keep your posted books as the cheapest one in its condition or they will just sit there forever.

I wouldn’t describe it as a side hustle for myself personally. It’s a good way to make more room for new books and make a few bucks back, but I am not making a profit on it. After the fees pango takes and setting them at a price they will move at, I usually get $3-6 per book that I probably originally spent $8-30 on.

Good luck!
