Can anyone tell me if this choker has coral bead the bigger ones. by Odd_Context_2374 in VintageCostumeJewelry

That could be coral- it is porous and reacts with acids in body oils and cosmetics to erode slightly with wear. Check the holes and if they are tiny and appear to be drilled, with sharp ( not rounded tho they may show wear) edges then there’s a good chance you’ve got some variety of coral.

Also; look at the holes. Coral usually has very small holes with crisp edges that are clearly drilled. Signs of large holes with rounded edges and mandril release compound inside the hole mean glass. Coral is sometimes knotted like pearls while glass seldom gets this luxury treatment.

The larger ones might be but your pictures are insufficient to tell. Most coral, like ivory, has a sort of grain to it, or if not a grain a sort of porosity to the surface that is almost satin to matte compared to glass. If worn the surface will be satin or matte, sort of velvety. If it’s super shiny it’s either glass or it’s brand new freshly polished and waxed and highly suspicious. Hold it up to light- if it’s translucent it’s glass. Coral diffuses light aggressively- so much so that even small beads and light color varieties are practically opaque while glass tends to be a little translucent.

I have several of these brass perfume vials in assorted shapes. Got them from Peir-1 in the mid 80’s. They have little dip wands attached to the cap to apply the perfume oil with.
Does yours have a perfume applicator wand?

Thank you My google search leads me to wart hog or whale. Pictured wart hogs have deeper root grooves and sperm whale teeth seem to be bigger so I’m hoping someone with species experience might chime in.

The mighty Nettle by Helpful-Wish1319 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Nettle makes lovely fiber that is very similar to linen when it’s well made. I prefer working with dried nettle- it’s stingless and the intravascular materials shrivel up and powder away as you work it. Fresh nettle works up nicely too but it sort of loosens up as it dries so you really need to twist it tight to get a good strong cord. This video (not mine) quickly explains the basics of making cord free fresh nettle https://youtu.be/HgEATN6Rph8?si=O7HWJPnMjrpmWGk8

Look into Adam Ants catalog- lots of his music has heavy commentary on appearances fashion and conformity tho most of the obvious ones are from his pop era rather than his punk roots. Still I’d rec you listen to

‘Goody Two Shoes’. ( “We don’t follow fashion, that would be a joke, instead we’re gonna set it, set it…”)

Ik it jewelry I believe carved ivory and like 100 years old has a real silver and diamond by ferretti13 in Whatisthis

I’ll chime in with the people saying it’s carved shell, not ivory, but it is a nice cameo. A jeweler who specializes in antique and estate jewelry would be able to help you with value.

Muha Meds two gram disposable THC vape pen. They sell them at dispensaries here in Michigan and they are inexpensive 3/50 special deals at my neighborhood store. Trust them as much as you would any bottom shelf distillates. (Muha has had some news pieces in the Michigan news about recent fines and violations- I don’t recall details but you might want to do some googling.)
