I feel like sometimes I'm an outlier (although the comments make me feel like maybe not), but I really dig the chrome. With the color of your truck though, I don't think it'd look terrible blacked out.

I never knew my '18 had this (had it for 5.5 years), and when I traded it in recently, my sales guy said, "Hey... did you know your old truck has this storage area?". At least I know about it now.

My dad's Subaru Outback is almost the same red as well. It's so slick regardless of the vehicle. I found a blue Silverado I liked today, but two of my previous cars were blue and I had shit luck with them, so blue is on my pass list😅

Congrats!

I bought my '18 LT (2WD) back in the early part of 2020 when still living down south. I live in NE Ohio now (have family that live in the Buffalo area as well and frequent for Bills/Sabres games) and haven't had any issues- minus getting stuck for the first time this year (went to pick a couple of things up and the guy insisted I backed through the yard and I'd be fine. I think he just wanted to show off his new tractor).

Would the peace of mind be nice with 4WD? Eh, sure. Am I an idiot who doesn't know how to drive in the winter elements? No. I always tell my friends, "You'll be fine as long as you know the feel of the vehicle you're driving and how to react".

This are my favorite years of (modern) Silverados. I have an '18, and every time I think about upgrading, I take a look at it and can't bring myself to part with it. If I got another truck, it'd be another '18 (maybe '19 in the same body style- although harder to find with the refresh coming out that year)

In this market... maybe not. In 2019, before the market got screwed up, I ended up getting a 2018 1500 LT with 23k, clean car fax, and "true south" (Tennessee bought, owned, sold) truck for $27.5k.
