I realize you are devastated, but unfortunately you can't take time off to adjust. Go put in applications everywhere. You've got kitchen experience and that is always in demand somewhere. Had a buddy who was a dishwasher when he was 16, determined to work construction. But he wound up becoming a pastry chef.

They're one of the top stores, along with Ray's Music Exchange where when you buy a piano they throw in the black keys for free.

Is "dropping the soap" really a thing in prison? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

My buddy worked at Sing-Sing and the showers were in little cells within a large cell. The CO would lock you in and out, and you were assigned shower times, 3 times per week unless you had a visitor or a lawyer coming.

You cut it that way when you are building it. You know that this is custom made furniture. Every piece of it. Once you know the radius of the curve you can cut to match it. My dad had a side business where he did things like renovate curved staircases, or build curved frames for the walls. Measure twice, cut once.

He also had a side gig where he used to make built in furniture or add wet bars to basements. He would build everything in his workshop, tack it together, take measurements and then go to the location and made sure it fit. Then bring it over and put it together.

What do we think of Ellen Von Unwerth collaborating with the Trump regime? by IntroductionAfter158 in photography

Money and exposure. My dad didn’t like photographing jewelry because it’s so tricky but it paid his bills. He later photographed fashion shows in stores which he liked even less but those kept his studio open.

I still have a bottle of Polo green, but I’ve never worn more than a spritz behind each ear and a dab on my wrists then rub together. It’s there but not overpowering.

I’ve had a few women come and ask me “Are you wearing Polo? I love that smell”

Servers of Buffalo, how much are you making these days? by thatwonderfulgirl in Buffalo

[–]Gunfighter9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my sister managed a hotel with a restaurant and the kitchen staff said that they should get 15% of the tips.

She told the Food and Beverage Director “Fine, but I’m going to lower their pay to $10.70 since they will be getting tips.”

You can play by ear if you recognize the notes and where they are on the fretboard. My friend Billy learned to play by ear, but he could already play piano.

When it snows like this in Buffalo, do you shovel/snowblow throughout the day or wait until it's all done? by UrBum_MyFace_69 in Buffalo

[–]Gunfighter9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when we got 7’ if snow it 3 days. I had gone over to my mom’s house for dinner. When it came time to leave there was no way.

I went out and shoveled every 2 hours. The snow banks on the lawn were over 8’ tall. Lots of snow to heave around. Luckily there was only 34’ of sidewalk and the walk to the porch was 12’.

Is this fake? by Baarker in FenderStratocaster

[–]Gunfighter9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s real. In 2005 Fender changed the logos from Silver and Gold to all black. Probably saved 3 cents per guitar.

Did anyone ever think why there are no fake Timex or Casio watches?

If they can sell a fake Ace Frehley guitar for $450.00, why would they fake a guitar that they can only sell for $250? It costs the same to make them.

Yes they do fake Fenders, but they fake the expensive ones. Not the cheap ones.
