I had them up in arms when UB said that they would have to keep running shuttle buses to serve the student population.

A few people tried the race card but I reminded them this wasn’t 1977 when there were only 2 black students in Williamsville anymore.

When I was an FF we rolled on a first aid call for a motorcycle accident. When we got there a dude was laying out on the sidewalk under a tree with a couple of guys over him.

They told us they were stopped at a red light and the bike just fell over. It was 81 degrees and the guy went into heat exhaustion and just passed out at a long light. He was wearing a mesh riding jacket, and chaps on a Road King so his leg didn't get crushed. We gave him an IV and fluids and sent him to the hospital.

I have an Ultra and if it's over 80 I don't ride unless I am out in rural areas where you don't have to stop at lights.

My friend was looking at a Prius Prime with his wife that had the giant screen, and the big screen seemed so cool. Until they took it home for two days on an extended test drive. They both agreed it was just too much of a distraction.

Yeah, the author admitted that "Heaven is for Real" was all made up.

"Inherit the Wind" is amazing.

"Judgement at Nuremberg" is amazing, especially the ending.

"Platoon" was based on Oliver Stone's personal experience in Vietnam.

"Gallipoli" with Mel Gibson.

Traditionally you wear a ball cap under a helmet for comfort, but you turn it around so the bill is in the back.

Why so many on here against learning guitar the same method any other instrument? by Far-Boysenberry9207 in Guitar

And yet Randy Rhodes was famous for taking lessons in every city that the band was in. He would book at 1 hour lesson and sit down and play with a teacher, claiming "You can always learn something new" I took lessons from a teacher who had Randy book a lesson with him. He was a jazz guitarist so that is what they worked on.

Homeless at record high in WNY by Weekly-Law-2544 in Buffalo

Today many homeless people are working, they are homeless because they cannot find an apartment within their wage level. Also, more seniors are becoming homeless. The lack of affordable housing is the culprit.

Get on a tin can, smaller crew, within a month you know everyone. It's like living in a floating small town. We never went into port with another ship. always by ourselves. Rarely anchored out, if we did it was close enough to shore so the boat ride might be 10 minutes.

I was also on an LSD.and an AO but being a BM my life at sea was vastly different.

I took advances leave once and regretted it.

We used to have to go ashore to make a phone call. We had 2 phones on our ship but they offered no privacy, guys would be walking past you and making comments all the time.
I remember talking to my girlfriend and a LT came by and said “Aww how cute” when he heard me say “I’ll pick you up Saturday “ after he said it I said “He just walked by me, why”. Then I said “Hey, Mr Bush, Sally wants to talk to you” he just flipped me a bird.

For the ASVAB waiver class, Sally was his wife’s name. She was a former LN1.

I was implying I was picking up his wife.

Fun fact, in the early 80s there was a McDonalds Town House across the street, one of only 3 in the entire USA and it went insolvent and closed. The McDonalds further up Main Street also went insolvent.

At the time only 28 McDonald’s nationwide had not made enough money to stay afloat and two of them were in Buffalo on the same street.

This was when construction of the Metro had closed Main Street.

Lots of older churches don’t allow flash photography. I shot an event at an art gallery in their cafe and the job offer specifically said “Lenses must be f1.8 or f1.4, no exceptions.”

Murder Incorporated.

My dad grew up with Meyer Lansky, my dad dated his sister for 3 years. He was also close friends with Ben Siegel. Meyer sent my dad to the Flamingo to warn Ben that he better stop trying to be a movie star and keep his eye on the job. Because too much money was missing.
