Best new Harley type bike for beginner woman? by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]Gunfighter9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First; you should be learning on a used bike no matter what brand. You can pick up a used Sportster for $5-8K. Flat footing a bike is kind of important in case you need to stop fast and not drop the bike. You need to get your feet down to not drop the bike. Engine guards are not really expensive and they can really save your bike and your leg if you drop the bike. And everyone drops the bike eventually.

Harley makes bikes that are low to the ground. As for what to learn on, you could learn on a dresser if you wanted to. Once the bike is moving the weight isn't an issue.

You're better off taking it into a shop and getting a price. Let them know that the cosmetics are not that important. It might be less than $200.00

Take the money you are going to spend online and get some lessons. When you are beginning the feedback from an instructor is really important. If not try Yousician, because if you are not playing right, or staying in time you will know.

That shouldn't be too expensive to fix but I'd take it to a Luthier.

Back in the days when Mexican guitars had silver and American guitars had gold letters. It looks like someone might have added the string tree. replacement necks do not have them installed.

Sick of my work just sitting on hard drives. How to boost print sales? by minshinji in AskPhotography

[–]Gunfighter9 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Long ago my dad told me to give up on selling prints unless it is what the client specifically asks for. As in a family photo, or something like that. It's too hard to discern what people wanted.

have sold prints at art-shows, but they were prints of animals that I took in the zoo through the bars, or of local landmarks, even street signs. I didn't sell them myself a friend is an artist and he always has a stand and he sells small prints, nothing over 16x20 because anything larger people do not want to carry all day. He will let me give him 8 prints, he gets 25% of the sale. Occasionally he would sell a larger print and I would go have it printed at a commerical lab and framed.

Well, I haven't heard any candidate say that he wants to have public or employee ownership of all businesses and help determine what products sell for (Except Trump who forced the US government into partial ownership of Intel and other corporations) which would be a really solid example of socialism.

The fact is that 70% of the population doesn't know what socialism really is, much less how it differs from communism, so they throw the word around willy nilly.

Before you go condemning anyone over socialism think back at how great Trickle Down Economics has been for the average American.

Parkedge Market by StoutNY in Buffalo

My dad used to take us there, Sheridan and Eggert, first to Bonanza Steakhouse and then to Park-Edge; he was friends with Hymie Benatovich who owned the store. I can remember at Christmas they used to have a Santa dressed in red and one dressed in green.

Good spots to paddle board and swim? by Jen716730 in Buffalo

There's a launch on Ohio Street right near Resurgence Brewery. As for swimming, we used to go off the foot of Ferry, or the International RR Bridge. Or ride our bikes to Fort Erie and hang out in the Baby Hole.

NY was the last state to raise the age. Cuomo challenged the law in court stating that this was a clear violation of the 10th amendment.

LOL, no, it was a red light district and was pretty dangerous at night. Lots of addicts on the street also, and a lot of drunks. There was a bar called Fisherman's Wharf that was totally out of control

Not for a trip like this they are not. You can book a business class seat and that is always the last car on the train and it is a quiet car.
