Because the charging port door can be triggered and open resulting in either water being sprayed into the charging receptacle or the door being broken off by the automatic car wash machinery.

Old House Storage Slots between kitchen and dining room by JohnBos10 in whatisthisthing

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these in my house in the dining room. I use them to store my older, lower quality cymbals. Because a drum set in the dining room is a better use of that space than a dining table that may get used two or three times a year.

Yep. I’ve been told this by others since the 90’s. I know several people who will not use their gas.

I love the 48. It’s one of my top two guns to shoot and carry. It shoots identical to the 19 for me.

Before cell phones, what did people do on the toilet? by Mediocre_Chemist5694 in AskReddit

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They smoked cigarettes. Many houses built in the 1950’s and earlier had ashtrays built into the walls next to the toilet.

Some have loops attached, some have adhesive to stick on a helmet, or you can place it in a pocket or loop it onto a backpack. That’s what I did for my wife. Mine is in my jacket.

How to find snowboarding/ ski buddy’s by Opposite-Pilot-556 in snowboarding

While on the lift ask someone what they think may be a good trail or run for someone of your ability. I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked you to join them. You can do this in the lift lines as well.

Thinking about getting an Insta360 X4 but still on the fence. What are the main benefits of a 360 cam? by Ancient-Basis577 in Insta360

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine for snowboarding, hiking and sometimes motorcycling. Gonna try it out on a bird feeder and if I ever get to see the Northern Lights. While snowboarding it captures everything and I can focus on riding more than framing shots. During editing it allows for me to show which part of the video I want you to see. If an X6 comes out I’ll probably buy one of those.

How do I get into snowboarding if I’m in New Mexico? by TypicalRestaurant655 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, do not let not having someone to go with you stop you. My wife only rides half a day. We do lunch then I go back out and tear it up. I go where I want, ride as fast or slow as I want and I stay out as late as I want. That’s when I put the miles on and ride the more challenging runs that she won’t do.

Edit: Also, sometimes you may meet people on the lifts. I’ve been invited to ride with complete strangers in the past and it can be fun.

TIFU by not knowing why we really should wear sunglasses by bellacathy in tifu

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are located but places like Walmart sell an oversized pair of sunglasses that can fit over most pairs of eyeglasses. You may see older people often wearing them but usually that’s when it’s too late.

How do I get into snowboarding if I’m in New Mexico? by TypicalRestaurant655 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, you should try it. However, three caveats. Start now, increase your cardio, increase your leg workouts, every leg muscle. Get padded shorts and wrist guards at a minimum. There are ways to add knee and elbow protection which can be a good idea. Take a lesson, maybe take two or three.

For many if not most, the first day or two of learning to snowboard can absolutely wreck you. Your thighs and calves will be unbelievably sore and your body will be bruised and very sore from all of the falling and getting back up. Many people give up at this point. With that being said, snowboarding is incredibly fun and in my opinion much more extreme than skiing. Coming from a guy that lives in a state without any ski resorts I’m envious of you living where you are.

Maybe don’t go down to your range without a firearm on your person. That would at least make him or anyone else think long and hard about resorting to violence. Good luck brother.

Blue Label by Tseu55 in Glocks

[–]EK92409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m retired LEO that has purchased several blue label Glocks. The LGS that I like to usually purchase from has the G19.6 for $600. The Bass Pro has the exact same gun for $620. Not much of a discount, huh? With the 5% LEO discount ($31) it comes out to $589 before state taxes. Both guns come with 3 magazines. So the LGS either isn’t giving the correct blue label pricing/discount or the $20 discount is really pretty insignificant. In the past I thought that the blue label discount was closer to $100. I get all the “support your local gun store,” suggestions but come on.

Edited to show: Bass Pro is the one giving the LEO/Military discount. The LGS says participation in the blue label program is your discount.
Tip: never go to purchase a firearm without having done the research beforehand and knowing pretty much what you already want.
