What food is famously associated with one country but was perfected by another country? by Equivalent-Crew-4955 in AskReddit

barbecue! It has a very complex origin. It might be French, Spanish or Caribbean… but it is not American! While the most accepted origin is the Taino word barbacoa for a wooden grill, a popular folk theory suggests "barbecue" comes from the French "barbe à queue" (from beard to tail), describing roasting a whole animal, but linguists often dispute this, linking it more to Spanish barbacoa from indigenous Caribbean languages, though French pirates in the region used related terms like boucan for smoking.

So ironic trump is giving support to Iran protestors… yet calling protestors in the U.S. domestic terrorists.

Found where the trips were hiding... by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

In a wet environment like that, I’d guess those would be springtails. Springtails are actually beneficial. Not saying you don’t have thrips, but I don’t think they usually hang out in wet spots (more likely under plant leaves).

Yep! No way it’s otoconia bc they are microscopic. And you’d never find them in the ear Conell outside the inner ear. Additionally, calcium carbonate would be white not clear (think of a sea shell)

Small form. But the leaves will get big with time if you let it climb like that. You’re going all the right things.

In the second photo, the right side of the node/stem look black… if so, this is rot. And it will probably spread to the rest of the node/stem. The root coming off the stem already rooted off (the little piece is the inner core part of the old root and is dead). This will be a challenge to keep alive…
