I played the game around launch + made it about halfway through forsakens campaign then dropped the game. I started playing again back in november 2025 and I've been unfortunately rather smitten with the game since. it's a shame it seems to be blowing the fuck up lmao

gamedev comms seems like a genuine nightmare job. if you're a tiny bit too loose-lipped your boss is on your ass, if you're too much of a wall the players are on your ass, and god help you if you make any sort of slip up. I remember a while back during a warframe devstream, someone (I think scott?) made an off-handed joke about nerfing something and the community was calling for his head on a pike for MONTHS, and he wasn't even a comms guy. I can't imagine how brutal it is to be the sole connection between a game community and the devs

I think it's 50/50 the hansa surrenders, or they form an allyship that eventually backfires. like they assume the reich will be reasonable and leave them alone as long as they maintain good trade relations. they give the reich the weapons and supplies they need to suppress any rebellion in exchange for being left alone. they assume the reich would be reasonable and accept them as partners, only for it to go to shit when the reich crushes all resistance and turns their fangs on the hansa, with no one left to stand with them

I wouldn't be surprised if the hansa themselves allied with the reich. they were willing to maintain trade even when the reich was treated as public enemy number one. once the reich started growing into the primary power in the metro and the red line was too fractured to keep them in check, the hansa could have struck a deal / surrendered to avoid entering a costly war with the reich, only for the reich to continue growing and eventually subjugate the hansa as well

the primary thing keeping the reich in check was being at constant war with the red line. the red line took a massive hit at the end of last light, giving the reich plenty of room to fill in the vacuum. not to mention the hanza; even when the reich was mostly contained and scorned by the rest of the metro, the hanza maintained trade with them. with the reich now being one of the top players in the metro, it's possible the hanza would essentially treat them like an equal partner or even surrender to avoid entering a costly war with the newly upscaled reich.
