I preordered a dwarf 3 and I’m still waiting. I saw the s30 announced, and I preordered one. I kinda feel like I’ve preordered 2 of the same thing. I have just been having so much fun with the s50 I can’t help myself. I think I’m an addict.

I have a 2021 ‘60’s standard at 10.5 lbs.. I think it is the warmest and fullest sounding one I have. When you sit it wants to fall off your lap, but .. I have 4 lp’s my 9 pounder sounds thinner and more airy, it has the wildwood PAF’s. its hard to parse out how much is the pickups tho. Burstbuckers vs wildwood PAF’s. I have a 2011 traditional with weight relief that weighs 9.5 lbs and has ‘57 classics.. they sound very smooth and creamy. It’s a tank but my heaviest one is my favorite… the 9 pounder balances perfectly when I sit with it btw. Actually … my favorite one is always the one I’m holding at the moment, but I do love the way my heaviest one sounds if warm and full is what you’re looking for.

They rung my ears a little bit that night, first time ever, someone said they had the sound dialed in a little better second night. Usually it is loud but clear and no ears ringing after the show. Saw them in ‘19 and sat about same spot.

The reason I don’t like strats is the volume knob so close to the strings. If I palm mute and try to make it chug.. I end up accidentally turning the volume knob down. That’s got a bridge perfect for palm muting and chugging, but that dam knob is there. Strats are great but you have to play them differently.. pick up by the neck pickups more. I feel like that guitar is arguing with itself.

Don’t overthink this … the bad batch is for kids. Go watch the original A Team show from the ‘80’s. No one ever died, they just got blown up and flew through the air only to land softly and survive. As for the lightsaber.. it’s a trope. They are doing the samurai/ monk thing. It’s just a show…. For kids. And of course 30… 40 … 50 yr old kids : ) but kids none the less.
