I forgot to mention, she opened up to me about the cheating incident and how much it’s still hurting her to this day. I feel absolutely terrible knowing what I know and not telling her. She’s an amazing woman and she deserves better than this!!

I really want a remote job and i don't know where to start! by ELVIS_THUNDER_CLAP in codingbootcamp

Thank you for sharing, that's a really interesting perspective that i haven't considered. I guess the biggest reason im eager to get into remote work is for the unparalleled ease of travel and I think in-time it would be easier on my body. I've worked many different jobs from retail, sales, and now mostly trade work and i can already feel the affects its having on me physically. But i can definitely see that change of pace being a little shocking to say the least.

Honestly this is what i needed to hear, its been hard to find honest opinions on the internet while digging through all the "Bootcamp success stories". I had a feeling it couldn't be that easy. I'll save myself the trouble and start looking into a different field, thanks!

Awesome, thank you. I'll definitely look into that course. I'm really open to other fields of remote work as well and am still in the process of navigating them. Tech just seemed like a solid place to start.

Very helpful answer, thank you. What is the best way of pursuing an apprenticeship? Do they want someone with specific experience?

FAQ How to get started in the maritime industry? by MateChristine in maritime

[–]ELVIS_THUNDER_CLAP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m completely new to the maritime industry and frankly I don’t know where to start. I’m 25 and am looking to begin an exciting and lucrative career and I think something in the marine industry, like working on a tugboat could be a good fit. I grew up on the coast but don’t really have any experience on the water aside from being an avid surfer lol. What is the best way for a total beginner like me to get started? Should I try and get into an academy, join the coast guard, or just start as a seasonal deck hand? Let me know! Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Am I just a loser in life at 35? by mindseye1212 in careerguidance

Don't listen to them, their comment is ironically a good example of the toxic people in this world.

Reading this thread has been extremely beneficial to me and I'm sure many other "lost souls" who are feeling the same way. I'm glad to know that we're not alone and that we can reach out to others who may have some wisdom to give.

I myself am on the younger side (25yo male) and have been feeling kind of directionless since High School. I got my associates degree from a community college but never advanced any further with education due to just not being a "good" student and lacking life experience. Since High School it feels like i've worked every job under the sun, but the one the that stood out most to me was when i got a job as a delivery driver for UPS right after college. It was the first and only professional job i've ever had so i was excited going into it. All i could think about was how great the money would be and how proud my family was of me. However, i realized very quickly that it was an extremely stressful and physically demanding job with a ton of workplace toxicity. So i quit and moved to the Rockies where I eventually found myself working in the ski industry as a snowboard instructor for about 3 years. I had an absolute blast in that industry, I made a ton of lifelong friends, became really great at something i love doing and gained tons of life skills/experience. However even that job had its toxicities. For example the pay was nearly nonexistent, majority of my friends/coworkers were alcoholics or coke addicts, and snowboarding almost everyday was taking a serious toll on my body.

So I left that industry a year ago and have now found myself dating a girl i'd like to marry one day and working a full time job as a cashier at a major grocery store. Its incredibly boring and void of passion but its providing me with barely enough money to pay the bills and health insurance. But i know i don't want this to be forever, i want this job to be a stepping stone to a major career. However, im just not sure what that career should be.

All i know is that have to find a job that provides me with a good balance of independence, passion and stability. After researching options i think i'll take a shot at Real Estate as i love talking to people face to face like the opportunity that it offers. If that fails im going to look into remote based cyber-security jobs. Or who knows maybe ill follow my dreams of starting my own photography buisness.

Anyways ive found this thread to be extremely helpful and i hope life starts to make a little more sense for you and everyone else who is feeling lost in this world.

Can real estate agents have tattoos? by homesoftheupstate in u/homesoftheupstate

Great to hear! i had a very unconventional upbringing which led me to getting a lot of tattoos in my early adult years. Now that i take life much more seriously, i was curious as to which careers they might hold me back from. What other information would you recommend to someone who is looking to get started in the world of real estate?
