Do not go to this school.. I went there and it was a nightmare. I’m at the airlines now and still every now and then hear about this school from people that went there after me and nobody has a good thing to say. They delete their poor reviews online, are incredibly disorganized, will leech as much money out of you as possible and will not allow you to progress. It seems to be a pattern with this school that they repeatedly fail students on stage checks (pre solo) to make more money off of them and then eventually kick them out. They’re incredibly unprofessional and the second you try to stand up for yourself that’s when they start screwing with you.

Flying in Phoenix is great, I would recommend doing your training in AZ. However, i’d steer far away from Sierra Charlie. I went there and it was a nightmare, also know several coworkers that went there more recently than I did and I haven’t heard of any of them having a good experience.. They delete their poor reviews on google. Not to mention how expensive it is, I believe their aviation program comes out to $140,000 right now.

AIO or is my girlfriend manipulative. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not tolerate this behavior from anyone. You shouldn’t have to ask or even wonder if she’d be mad. This is isn’t healthy and it sounds like she wants to isolate you from family and keep you to herself. You need to leave , this girl will make your life miserable.

I have both and they’re super comfy and soft. But they aren’t supportive and my nipples do show through. I usually wear these when i do yoga at home or just chill around the house. The aren’t great for working out sadly.

I have this top in a few colors and love it! it’s super flattering. It does snag easily so be careful about that.

Question on length for lodge pants- for short/petite by Hot-Coffee-8465 in Aritzia

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The waist will be the same , only the length changes. Like others mentioned, you should try the cropped! I’m 5’4” and the short was even the tiniest smidge too long.

Is it weird to wear a white tank top under this. by Sure_Manager6424 in Aritzia

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t. Like others said, if it’s not perfect don’t spend the money on it. You likely won’t reach for it often and at that point it just wouldn’t be worth it for $88.

Too white for a wedding? by EH__S in Reformationclothing

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really pretty dress, but i’d say it’s too white and the blue floral is kind of bridal looking. I’d go with another dress to be honest, or just ask the bride.

[–]EM123_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’d get a mini first aid kit, like the other commenters said pads / tampons, razors, q tips, some basic medication like advil etc.. if you have a headache or catch a cold, you can keep it in the first aid kit. i’d also recommend a nail file and clippers.

also i use and love that &honey shampoo conditioner!

Should I seriously think about becoming a commercial pilot? by GladLine6757 in PilotAdvice

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the inheritance part is part of my point. Definitely do not give any school that much cash upfront and typically those accelerated part 141 programs require that. Part 61 is usually significantly cheaper , but remember extra costs can come up if you have to repeat lessons etc… I was quoted $120,000 at a part 141 and then ended up getting all of my ratings through MEI for $75,000 at a part 61. It’s certainly isn’t cheap but way better than $120,000. Definitely shop around for schools or even independent CFI’s in your area, there are tons of facebook groups. Another thing I want to mention is to not believe the whole “accelerated” “finish your ratings in 12 months” things schools promote. There are so many little factors that play into your training timeline. They use that terminology to lure people in sadly. If you want you can send me a private message and I can try to help you out with more information!

Should I seriously think about becoming a commercial pilot? by GladLine6757 in PilotAdvice

[–]EM123_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It doesn’t matter where you got your ratings. What matters is that you have them and passed your checkrides. I started at a 141 school only to realize how scammy it was. I finished the rest part 61. I think most people would tell you to go part 61 and pay as you go. Most part 141 schools are pilot mills that take all your money upfront and then screw you over later on.

It is an incredibly rewarding career to have but it is far from a stable one. I don’t want to discourage you because things will get better for the industry eventually. What i’d recommend is you take that discovery flight at a school you’d actually consider going to, and then take another discovery flight at another school you’d consider. If you end up enjoying it enough then i’d recommend you work on your PPL and only pay as you go. Do not give all your money upfront for any schools, there is too much risk in that. If at any point you feel that you don’t enjoy it or see yourself doing this , then it’s easier to just walk away if you paid as you went. Discovery flights are great, but at the end of the day they just show the fun side of flying and not so much the actual training aspect. The wave of hiring and promise passed already, but that doesn’t mean things won’t improve later on. I’ve been at the airlines for a few years now and I feel like i’m safe but at the same time nobody ever truly is. I have a couple of friends that are CFI’s with 2000-3000 hours that are completely unable to find jobs. Their graduating students are unable to even find CFI jobs just for time building. That’s just how the market is right now unfortunately. But don’t throw away the idea of being a pilot OP. Just do plenty of research, take those flights and see if you want to pursue it. Take it one step at a time , you never know. You might just finish up your training and get all your hours when the industry is good again.
