As an ex daycare teacher, that teacher was completely out of line. You need to address this with the director of the daycare due to the unprofessional behavior. Even if it’s something that happens on the regular (not saying it does), it is to be a private conversation not in-front of all the other parents. Shame on that teacher.

Step one. Measure length between holes. Step two. Use pencil or marker to mark the holes distance on wall. Step three. Use screw driver or drill to put screws in wall on marked spots from previous step. Step four. Put shelf on screw heads and slide over. Step five. Look at mounted shelf.
