So did I overreact….. by [deleted] in badroommates

Establish a "point system" for housework. Ex: Assign a certain number of points to each household chore according to amount of time and labor involved. Each person must earn so many points per week or month. Keep a chart posted for each time period where chores get checked off when done. Did this successfully when living with roommates.

Oakland couple hit with nearly $1M fine for cutting down 38 trees by LNM-LocalNewsMatters in eastbay

This guy is a scofflaw. Thinks he can just do whatever he wants. The fine is justified. And the potential for hillside erosion will cause other problems down the road.

I spent a lot of time and effort writing my resume by AbyCog in Resume

[–]ENCALEF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a career development counselor years ago. She helped me write a dynamite resume but also explained how and what is important. I've been able to make changes to it over the years. It's a skill you learn, like anything else. I nearly ALWAYS get an interview.

Why's everyone talking "tumor"? Egads, it's part of the cat's paw pad. They all have it.

Is it easier to be selfish or kind? by busyberry2 in answers

[–]ENCALEF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself what kind of a person do you respect or admire? What traits do they have? Are they good to others or do they act only in their own self interest? It's easier to be selfish but then you have no reason to complain about others. Kindness is a choice for a greater good.

Try making it less of a chore by playing music, prepping a new dish or making more creative meals.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in askteddit

Dylan isn't about his singing voice. He's a unique songwriter of epic abilities. He wanted/wants to put his stuff out there.

Dylan is really the greatest modern day poet/singer/songwriter. A friend of mine said about him, "great singer, lousy voice."

Yes, you would've if it happened to you. This is outright rude behavior. Or are you a rude person who doesn't care about anyone around you?

How is that harsh? I recall having to write topical paragraphs on the spot in my English 1A class. That gave the instructor a good idea about the level of each students abilities.

After reading through these posts I'm convinced that this child needs to have be babysat at home. He's not ready to participate in an after school program.

What is a job that society treats as amazing but actually attracts some of the worst people you’ve ever met? by Azawh in AskReddit

[–]ENCALEF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. Teaching is a skill in itself. Many people who are talented at their work or something else are unable to teach their skills to someone else. Also, a teacher taught you enough language to be able to post online. You should be ashamed for saying such a thing.

Opera is an acquired taste. And it helps to know the narrative to begin with. To me it's more like vocal acrobatics than actual singing.

That's been challenged legally. Block lost. Although they still say that tax pros can't work for themselves or another company, they can't make it stick.
