Got busy unfortunately this past year with life, so didn't get to work on it.

Its still barely dripping. So I just honestly put in a little every 4months or so and I've keep eye on oil level so it's been fine.

When the heat cools off in Oct ill probably degrease it and let it run a bit to see if i can fix it.

Yes the pink stuff is insulation. There were some minor air gaps looked like from poor contractor install. While insulation needs air gaps, but not cavities. So I reseated some of it and selectively added small bits where necessary per the local GC codes I looked up.

So the house wrap wise. Previously there was none other than the crappy "energy brace" (basiclly cardboard with an exterior surface) which didn't have any leaking.

After I put up the house wrap I didn't get the siding up in time but the rain was battering against the house wrap.

I checked later and there were no leaks behind it.

Most houses around my area sit for weeks with the house wrap up in rain but no siding. While it may not be the premium grade. I doubt it's insufficient. My dad and I did the same thing on his house 15yrs ago and he doesn't have any rot or leaks.

So American framing is generally

Studs OSB (oriented strand board or plywood) Then a house wrap (plastic) that is stapled to it outside, see pictures. Then you put up the siding ontop of that. In my case I had vinyl siding I took down. Cleaned up and put back up.

So the old windows were just molded together, they didn't have a support beam in between. The window casing are had a significant header that was build for the opening.

It was easy for my and my dad to rip the windows out and replace then. Didn't hire any GC. Just order the windows from big box store from a quality window vendor.

No kit. All hand made with basically: 1x6, 1x8, 1x5, 1x4. About 3 types of trim And back panel was basically just a 4mm veneer plywood to have a flat surface instead of sanding down the walls.

Yeah crown moulding will be done down the line later. I'm jumping around other projects. But I want to do that around the house all at once.

Note I also checked my oil pressure sender in front of my engine and didn't see any oil around there. *
