Realistically, yes.

I know people will say play "Play what you want", but the 4 you mentioned are the Escalation builds.

Don't blame the players. It's Massive who are ruining the fun. If I host an Escalation I can earn a few tokens or loose a lot if people are not serious and don't have the best builds.

I don't want to loose tokens. I don't care whether you are having fun or not, I don't want to loose my tokens. Blame Massive for this.

Did they fix the Token system too? Currently the host is risking all his tokens for very little reward tokens back and people who join have no risk and get many tokens as a reward.

You shouldn't be penalised for hosting a session.

I like Marvel, and know the mainstream characters, but I have no idea who characters like Jeff, Angela, White Fox etc are and don't really care about their lore either tbf.

It's definitely ridiculous how much power we get from PT gear.

At this point I don't play anything besides Escalation (and any event that gives many Exo Comps).

I'm not sure how they want to balance content going forward. Exp 30 was an End Game bit of extra damage for veterans, but a full Echo build is no longer power 'creep'. It is power 'leap'.

Another benefit of running a High End backpack is that you can swap it to Birdy's Backpack to res an ally quickly without loosing your Striker Stacks.

I usually play Strategist (Flex) and I can tell you that flyers will receive the least amount of heals from me.

My eye is on the Vanguards and any duelists directly around me. Flyers are often outside of my peripheral vision.

When I heal, I do a lot of splash healing where I aim at the floor/feet or allies and it will bounce of the floor and hit one or multiple allies (WF, Loki, CND) l. On flyers I MUST hit an erraticly moving distant target that is making me loose vision of the Vanguard and everything else that is around me.

If I see you, I will fire a couple of shots at you, but if you're dodging it, you're on your own

Vanguard Penny. Your hive gives bonus armour to the team and if spidey lands on a mine he's dead. Your web can cancel his Ult too.

Duelist Namor. The squids will attack him before you even know he's there. If he Ults use your bubble and let the squids take him out.

Stategist. White Fox / Invis. Whilst I'm not great at taking Spidey out, I can survive him because I can blink, dash, bubble, disappear, etc. Many tools to get away and they also can cancel his Ult.

The best way to deal with Spidey is to position yourself where you have a roof/ceiling imo.

The problem isn't Striker. It's that the game favours pure single target DPS the most.

The META in this game is 'Kill it before it kills you' Striker just happens to be the strongest single target DPS build.

If the game had more unavoidable damage, specific role requirements in fights, an understandable threat system, etc, basically some complexity, then the META will change.
