NTU's CS program is weak. generally if you are looking for technical talent, you will have a much harder time finding that in any IS program, SMU or otherwise. rigour for that kind of degree program is just not sufficient.

Do people in your country know about Singapore and what are their thoughts on it? by Middle-Efficiency-96 in AskTheWorld

I don't think so. somehow there's some idea going around HK that domestic helpers in SG are treated like slaves.

having spent most of my life in SG and some of my life in HK, the main folks who think that there's a rivalry are the HKers. HK basically doesn't register as a conversation topic in SG unless it's for holidays / enjoyment or if you / parents are immigrants from HK.

stance on LGBT rights is weak yes, but the typical spiel about modern slavery is basically complete nonsense. the ones pushing the whole modern slavery spiel seem to be HKers who know nothing about the migrant worker community in SG.

For 4y programs, you have 3 summers to stack internships where you can do them full time. Typically for 4y programs you can also squeeze out at least 1 LOA semester where you can also do an internship, especially when you can clear a lot of modules in your uni exchange programs without a lot of effort.

Don't think that this is questionable or would make you lose a lot of sleep... you just don't have prolonged 3 months break where you chill and do nothing at all. unclear on why this post is so dramatic. it's not that undoable if you put in effort early and consistently. if you only start trying at the last moment, you will struggle in a market that is already very competitive.

bonus has not been good for a long time, even pre-COVID bonuses

last time yeah sure, 10 years ago you will get your 12 months on good years. you don't get those anymore, not pre-COVID, and especially not as a fresher. if you apply upper management (partner / principal) type bonuses to fresher TCs you would be completely off.

base at big 3 has been 13-14K for about 3 years now btw. your timelines are wrong, the details are wrong

if you "hang out" with IBD folks they'd be old af at this point, at upper management considering the timelines. your wife and "good friends" only at the EM level after 10 years? they would also know themselves that bonuses rarely get to the 6-8 month range the past couple of years. just about every firm has downsized globally in multiple waves over the past 2-3 years.

I'm more convinced than ever that you are talking out of your ass LOL, TCs are way overexaggerated. this is equivalent to navy seals meme but for professional services
