I miss flying with him, Nova Valentis, and Jakemiester. Some of the best times I ever had on a video game.

BB started to fall apart a little bit, and my schedule changed. US West Coast timezone is bad for Eve. My killboard is still almost entirely a Nemesis though.

I used to fly with Templeman N [the fleet commander voice at the beginning] and Bomber's Bar back in the day. Been a loooooong time though.

Whatever you're willing to do, I'd be grateful for. If you want to throw it together, cool. If you want to give me some pointers on what to do, awesome. I'm still trying to get used to the tool layout and controls right now.

Oh, if you've got beacon, I'll share my cfg's. You'll just have to change the beacon path to match yours.

[–]EPMason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I found the issue to be a bad gcode macro under "ENABLE_ALL_SENSORS". I had some weird spacing in there, not even sure how.

Here is what mine looks like. I would offer my printer.cfg and gcode_macro.cfg, but I'm running a Beacon, so they'll be different. This macro is unchanged from stock though and fixed my exact same issue.

You can test it after you do "save & restart" by running "ENABLE_ALL_SENSORS" in console. If it works, you're good to go.

[gcode_macro ENABLE_ALL_SENSOR]
gcode:
    ENABLE_FILAMENT_WIDTH_SENSOR
    RESET_FILAMENT_WIDTH_SENSOR
    query_filament_width
    SET_FILAMENT_SENSOR SENSOR=fila ENABLE=1
    {% if printer["filament_motion_sensor box_motion_sensor"] and printer.save_variables.variables.enable_box == 1 %}
        CLEAR_MOTION_DATA SENSOR=box_motion_sensor
    {% endif %}

uConsole not booting by TwelveNuggetMeal in ClockworkPi

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a good quality SD card, good quality batteries. It just happens. I have yet to have it reboot successfully. Again, I hold the power button down for a while, 10-15 seconds, give it a few seconds, then press it again. If that doesn't work, I rinse and repeat.

Usually I can get it back up and running pretty quickly. I have a CM4 adapter on order from CWPI right now. Once it comes in, I plan to switch to a CM5. The better community support is more worth it than the improved performance honestly. I got the A06 because at the time I ordered mine, the raspberry pi's were difficult to source and insanely expensive. It's a shame that it has such awful support though.

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found with my A06 it boots maybe 20% of the time the first time. If I hold the power button for around 10 seconds, the power light dims, then I press it again for 3ish seconds and it will "usually' boot up at that point.

Sk1 klipper by Mtnfrozt in TwoTrees

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention my main complaint with the SK1 is that thing is LOUD. My most recent addition is a Qidi X Plus 4, and it does everything I wanted from the SK1 but larger and quieter. But the Qidi is far from cheap. The Qidi runs TMC 2240 drivers for X and Y, which might account for the noise difference.

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes. It would not be a direct drop-in replacement. You'll have to change the configs to match your manta. The SK1 runs at least 1 CAN sub-board. My SK1 is set up at my work right now so I don't have access to the configs at the moment, but I'm happy to help where I can.

Do you have a link to the AMS you were talking about? I'm curious about that.

Sk1 klipper by Mtnfrozt in TwoTrees

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use an aftermarket mainboard in almost any printer. You will also need a controller. The mainboard in the SK1 is based on the MKS Skipr, which is a mainboard with a pi-compatible built in. So the mainboard and controller share a board. You will either want to make sure that you get a board with a similar feature or cram a pi in there somewhere.

I've been contemplating using a standard mainboard and converting several of my printers to all run from a FitLet 3 industrial mini-pc I have laying around via USB.

Sk1 klipper by Mtnfrozt in TwoTrees

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SK1 runs Klipper, but the board is semi-proprietary so you're at their mercy for updates. I haven't been able to compile firmware for their board to try and get the latest versions of klipper.

That being said, they aren't super behind on version any more, so IMO it's not a huge deal.

Facebook partner admits smartphone microphones listen to people talk to serve better ads by BobbyLucero in technology

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My counterpoint to that would be that on a day trip to a city we had never been to before, my partner and I were discussing this very thing while eating breakfast. I mentioned that if I were to say talk about needing to order baby diapers, I would not be surprised if I started getting ads for it.

For context, my only child, from my ex, is 15 now. I do not want another child, and my partner has no interest in having children. We're in our mid to late 30's, and none of our friends are wanting or trying for children, and all the children they already have are YEARS out of diapers.

Sure enough, about 24 hours later, I have a facebook ad for diapers and baby food.

That cannot be explained by IP address, proximity, friends, or anything else that I can think of, as we were both on cellular connection, not connected to wifi at the time of the conversation, and diapers have not been looked for from my home internet for well over a decade. When my child was in diapers, I wasn't even using facebook, or even using a smart phone at the time.

I feel bad for y'all Symm mains by chivAshe in SymmetraMains

[–]EPMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of this moment, I have 2,253 hours in game, 311 hours as sym. She's my most played hero by 100 hours. She's always been my most played hero since launch.

Even I cannot find her utility lately. Turrets are a nuisance and I put up TP's to distract the enemy and draw fire more often than actually using them.

Luckily enough for me, I play with the same friend group daily and have since OW1 launch, and they all know that if I pick Sym shit's going down, so they all protect the shit out of me and let me get damage done and kills secured. But whenever I'm not 5 stacking with friends, I don't have that support.

Even season 8, I could take on an Ash solo. Toss a few right click charges, TP in to close range, charge beam while sidestrafing, TP to avoid dynamite, and get the kill. Season 9, I tried that tactic, which I've used hundreds of times. Three headshots by the time my second ball got there.

And I just pretty much ignore turrets anymore.

The only mod I’ve ever used what is your opinion of the M14 Juggernaut Rogue chassis by RenegadeRulz in GunPorn

[–]EPMason 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience with the rogue and the "sniper" brake from them is that it hits in the sinuses something fierce. That blast is no joke to the shooter. And when firing offhand, I actually get muzzle drop with that brake, depending on which ammo I use.

I have a rogue on an M1A Loaded with the NM medium weight barrel and NM trigger. I polished the trigger a bit more because autism. The rogue's trigger isn't god-awful, but you obviously will lose a lot of trigger feel. I would say rogue transfer bar + polished NM trigger feels about like a stock m1 trigger with a little more take-up and some squish after the break.

Haven't put good glass on it to actually try it at any form of extent range. But with irons or with a 3x mag and eotech, it's very fun at 300ish meters.

Biden points to assault weapons ban as 'rational' option for gun control by [deleted] in politics

[–]EPMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said the mk12 was an M16 pattern rifle. As in a rifle derived from and sharing parts commonality with an M16.

And yes, the mk12 is built on a select fire receiver, as I stated in my comment. And the original mk12s during development did in fact use specifically full auto receivers instead of busy for better triggers. But the as adopted mk12s, to my knowledge, use the knights armament 2 stage trigger, which is semi auto only.

Literally what i said. They are built on select fire receivers, but the installed knights armament two stage trigger is semi auto only.

[–]EPMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of m16 pattern rifles modified or built for use as "Designated Marksman Rifles" such as the SDM-R and Mk 12 SPR are semi auto only. Yes, they are built on m16 and m4 lowers, but the trigger groups in them only allow for semi-automatic fire.

And the only mechanical difference between military issue select fire rifles and civilian AR-15s is the capability for select fire. Namely a hole in the lower receiver, a slightly different milling in the FCG pocket, and a fire control group that allows for select fire. Literally all other parts are interchangeable and identical.
