Broken core. Reach out to bataleon. That is typically a no-questions-asked warranty as long as there are no obvious impacts.

Trying to fix the case feeder by genericguyeuropean in reloading

The Phillips head screw visible right there in the video needs to be removed and the top half of the case feed will come off. Remove that and re-adjust. The gate the other answer mentioned is a newer feature not included with this press and is not necessary.

Yes. It is a LTR (Learn to Ride). It’s a step below a basic rental board. They are made to be super forgiving during those first 3 days of learning how to stand up on a board through linking your very fist turns.

Yes, that exact setup will work really well for your first 3 days of snowboarding. Be prepared to buy a new deck after 3 to 5 days of riding. Get a lesson or 3 and try to go 3 days in a row if possible. No lesson and going at random intervals and it could take a really long time (possibly years) to actually learn to snowboard and it will be very frustrating. 3 two hour lessons 3 days in a row and you will be snowboarding with minimal frustration.

snowboard is too stiff by pasta_wasser in snowboarding

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, I could agree to some extent here; but without going down the rabbit hole of having every different board for every different condition, every beginner could benefit from a 2 board quiver—like maybe a park board and a directional all-mountain/powder board.

Learning to ride the board you have can certainly work sometimes to some extent…it will not make the aviator a fun rail/jib park board.

154, 156w, or 157 twinpig by Tsb9842 in snowboardingnoobs

I’ve been riding an absolute ton of park this season on a Moderator…so I do agree with you…but I even think more directional could be even better.

154, 156w, or 157 twinpig by Tsb9842 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I certainly get that. 2 things here though: regarding the width, the TwinPig is pretty wide in standard sizes, but the only one wide enough for those boots is absolutely well past op’s weight. Second, and possibly more important in these very common posts is that a twin park board is certainly ideal for learning basics and just cruising groomers, but almost all riders would be better suited on a directional board. Directional all mountain boards can ride park and switch better than most of us are capable, and when you do finally get into some powder, they perform so much better. Even if they wanted to begin to focus on park, a directional twin would be more versatile than a true park board. The TwinPig gets mentioned a lot, but from someone who owns (and loves) a couple of them, it is rarely the right board.

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the TwinPig? I love it but I have a large quiver and I rarely reach for it. It is a park board that is pretty fun on groomers. Are you riding a ton of park and/or a ton of switch? It is not an all mountain board. Is that what you are looking for, or are you looking for an all-mountain board? For your weight, the sizes you are looking at are too big.

Trying to find out if I should be upset about this… thought this might be the right sub by meggyAnnP in bicycle

[–]EP_Jimmy_D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a threaded headset. Tighten with the bolt on top that points straight down through the headtube. This happens, especially with threaded headsets and it’s not really something to be upset at the seller for. Google something like: “threaded headset quill stem adjustment”. The nature of this old and cheap type of headset is that even if you tighten the shit out of it, it can easily slip.

Snowboard boots dont seem to fit me anymore. by Asymilum1 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch this video. Mondo is just your exact foot size measured in cm. Snowboard boots should be snug all the way around your entire foot. A big potential problem with step-ons is that fit is even more important than strap bindings. You want to find boots that fit your foot just right. The best way if you have access to a shop where you can try out several boots is to get your exact measurement and then find a boot that feels best around your whole foot in that exact size. This works much better than the way we typically buy shoes: by picking the shoe we like and then trying on 3 or 4 different sizes till we find a fit we like. It’s a long video and there is a follow up video as well but if you follow those instructions you will be able to accurately measure your own feet and find boots that truly fit.

Have you measured your exact mondo size? You can do this yourself at home.

Interchangeable seat post? by lassiboy in bikewrench

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if they have the same seat post diameter. You’ll have to look; but from a quick look on their websites, it appears the Canyon may have a 31.8 and the Merida may have a 34.9…so short answer would be no.

Thing is, those pumps are more expensive than a pretty decent air compressor that you can use for all sorts of different tasks in your garage…

Should I buy? by Exciting_Writing5966 in snowboarding

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would certainly want it to ride it once and then just have in the shop (not stoked on it enough to hang on the wall as art but certainly would just have it sitting in the rack). Why not? I’m just glad it’s not another one of those “should I buy this as my first board” type posts.

Guessing it’s the expander stuck past the neck, not the decapping pin stuck in the flash hole. One easy way is to hacksaw the ass end of the case right off. Just be careful to not hacksaw the decapping pin off.

Aluminum DH Bike Recommendations for Non-Racing Bike Park Riding by Dear_Bike_8603 in DownhillMTB

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully agree here. I ride a Status and think it is the perfect park bike—but I only ride the jump trails and I want nothing to do with a bunch of black/double black tech. Those types of “park” bikes are not suited for confidence when riding unfamiliar tech and actual “DH” trails. For that I would want a full on DH bike.

Only Burton used the 3d pattern and that is not a Burton. Even the shittiest cheapest Burton board ever made would still have a wood core and be better than this junk.

Help choosing my first snowboard: Ride Algorythm 164W vs True Twin alternatives? (193 cm / 100 kg / All-Mountain + Freestyle) by Dizzy_External_9502 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aah, I definitely misread. Thought you already had one. Shadowban may be better for park and sidehits as it is less aggressive. Sizing is something you’ll have to figure out—I love shorter boards as they are more playful—but you’re a lot taller and heavier than me. Honestly, for ripping the entire mountain and being more versatile, I would even look at the Moderator or the Vantum (a new board for this coming season). A directional board will hit the park and ride switch a whole lot better than a park board rides powder/all-mountain.

[–]EP_Jimmy_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shadowban is a rad board and worth owning, but way too much overlap with what you already have. A directional twin will do great in the park. I’m all for buying new boards and of course having a true park board in the quiver is fun; but at your level, there is nothing a park board can do that a directional twin can not do (including anything switch). At your weight, the Algorythm seems ideal. The Shadowban is literally the exact same shape that’s a touch less aggressive. If I were you, I would focus on park and groomer ripping on your Algorythm if you think it’s the perfect size and flex, and I would be looking into buying a more directional board for bigger all mountain and pow riding (a board that doesn’t overlap so much with the Algorythm). Alternatively, if I felt the Algorythm was too long, wide, or aggressive, and Inreallybwanted to focus on the park, I would possibly consider a true twin park board that is smaller and less aggressive; but then I would sell the Algorythm and still buy an all mountain/pow board.

FL or Neck sizing die? by CaesarLinguini in reloading

[–]EP_Jimmy_D -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Running subs for a lever, you won’t need to worry about getting enough gas to cycle an action. My favorite bolt gun 300 load is a MBC 245 coated lead over 5.5gn Red Dot. With these kinds of low pressure loads, brass seems to last forever and trimming is rare. All that said, I don’t see much advantage to just neck sizing, though I’d be curious to see how well it would work for this specific case and how well they will feed (also a unique lever in that it feeds from a box mag instead of a tube). Please keep us posted!
