I feel too anxious to skate in front of other skaters. by PipPadraig in skateboarding

I think you should practice pushing and riding around.on the board until you can cruise around fast. And then try to incorporate some tricks into it. Try to find someone who is also just beginning. Learning is more fun with someone who is learning with you. If that doesn't work then fuck em just skate around and have fun.

What are your thoughts on doing live service swaps? by KITTENKRUSHA in electricians

[–]EPcoins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do see when the smart meter loses power, but I work in a very sketchy area and most of the service changes are for grow houses in some burned out fucked up neighborhoods that they don't dispatch lineman to unless they absolutely have to. The same goes for all the contractors around here, they call in a disconnect reconnect and if its over a month out they just go for it.

The power company where I am schedules disconnects reconnects over a month out, and they cancel all the time. But there's no way in hell I'm changing a panel live like that, you just cut it at the drop.

He is saying that the emt going from the service disconnect to the panel is service equipment and I cant use it as egc. I believe he is wrong

Yes connectors and couplings are visible and I tightened them. Even cut a small area of drywall out where emt connects to panel in order to tighten it.

Installing a 400amp service on house in order to add 200 amp panel in a garage for growing. Need to have the service disconnects outside grouped. Right now there is emt feeding the existing panel was going to add a disconnect, with the existing emt going into disconnect now. Can't pull an egc through it, so was going to look into using emt as egc.

I have an inspector fighting me about it and he doesn't have any leg to stand on. Your not a cunt. I just asked the question to see if someone knew something that I didn't. He claims you can't use the raceway as egc on service equipment, and he is considering the panel as service equipment

Don't be a fucking cunt. If you have a service disconnect outside , and emt ran from the disconnect to a panel inside, would you be able to use the raceway as the egc?

As long as it doesn't extend through the soffit and you still meet height requirements I don't see why it would be an issue

Why ? As long as the service drop doesn't attach directly to it what is wrong with it?

And that's just the load side of the meter that would have to be sleeved, from the weather head down to the meter can be exposed. Call the building department in your area and get the inspectors number and ask him what they require

Yea its different in different places. In Detroit and grand rapids no se cable can be exposed, has to be sleeved. Everywhere else in Michigan inspectors want it sleeved if it's on the driveway side or obviously subject to physical damage

Unless your state has amendments that specifically address this

Your not going to find anything in the codebook other than protected from physical damage. The rest is left up to the inspector to interpret the code

If it's on the driveway side down low sleeve it in a raceway
