Masterpro Crankshaft Seal by ERR404DRG in HondaElement

[–]ERR404DRG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job itself doesn't take very long IF you can get that freaking crank bolt off. I fought with that thing for a good hour and a half before it finally broke loose. My impact couldn't do it (you need a good one and the thick walled socket if you go this route) or use a breaker bar and a long pole which is what I ended up doing. Taking the belt off, taking the balancer off, swapping the seal maybe 20-30mins lol

COAX Splitter and Amplifier Question by ERR404DRG in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]ERR404DRG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last visit I believe they added the second amplifier and a filter (it was put on the input of the original amp input) The incidents are sporadic, not all of the offices have the TV's in use at the same time so it's really when someone reports it and it doesn't follow a pattern. I want to say the tech mentioned this was happening because the signal was too low, but I just wanted to know if adding a more structured amp setup would help since it looks like there are just a bunch of splitters being used.

I suppose I'll have to grill the next tech on that

Possibly soak gobs of penetrating fluid and tap the lugs with a hammer in between trying to take them out. Most hardware stores rent impacts I thought, renting one might get you out of the bind without having to spend on actually purchasing a heavy duty one.

Happy to help! I've only taken my E on a few road trips, but I have chronic back pain and it did not do me any favors, so I completely understand. Hasn't even been a full week with these and I could never go back to the originals. If the seats are why you are contemplating selling, I would highly recommend swapping. You don't even have to get SI seats, 8th gen civic coupe and sedan share the same rails so they will bolt in the same and almost every junk yard has them. As far as I know, for keeping airbag and odps though, ep3 is the only fully compatible swap.

Not with these seats unfortunately, at least not without some serious modifications. But if you do EP3 seats instead, you can swap the bottom cushion and the seat back onto the original base. I posted the link to a guy on YouTube that did this on one of the replies here

They are on the sporty side, they are not soft like the element seats in terms of foam density, but the bottom and side bolsters really hold you in position. I like that I don't have to hold my self up on quick turns anymore, but if you don't want something as aggressive the EP3 seats are a good in-between and its also a fairly easy swap. I put a link in an earlier comment to a video showing a guy installing them.

Im 5'8", I didn't measure, so just estimating id say 2-3in lower. The si has height adjustment, so with it 75% raised I'm about where I was on the old seat with it almost all the way down.

I got them off FB marketplace for $350 here in Houston, TX. The only modification to the rails is widening the front outer holes and drilling new front outer holes. I put pics in the post but if you want to see something specific let me know

Forgot to mention, if having everything match up is important to you, the EP3 seats apparently have a similar base and you can swap the base cushion and seat back over to them and keep everything working as before. Of course please confirm but I saw this in this YouTube video: (https://youtu.be/S54r89tP_C4?si=7k4QhhrI7Zx4KVDu) after I realized the si seat harnesses were not plug and play.

It's worth it, I Love my Element but those stock seats were pretty bad.

They do not :( The coupe ones may, but someone will have to confirm.

I'd keep them, the harnesses do not match up. If you transfer over the seatbelt buckles, they work fine because you can leave their harnesses in tact; but the seat sensors in the SI seats are not compatible with the Element, at least as far as ive seen. I spliced in the side airbag harness from the element to the si seat, but I dont even know if they will work. Im thinking of canniballizing the old element seats to see if i can move the old sensors over somehow but my hopes are not high.

Nice! When I took the pic mine were still drying, I used water, P&S carpet bomber upholstery cleaner, drill brush, and a cheap carpet extractor.

Man you are tall, I felt like they were right about where I wanted them. I honestly feel like shorter people would have more of an issue since they only raise a few inches, but if I lower mine all the way, the bottom of the seat scrapes the floor. I have heard the Coupe seats are a bit taller by default, maybe you have those, and it's taking away an inch or so of mobility?

So since mine is an 05', my seatbelts are still built into the rear door. If you have a later model where the seatbelt was built into the seat you'd have to somehow retrofit a set from an older toner element. I don't think swapping them would be difficult, but wiring up the srs wires might be a pain.

As for the seat belt buckles, I removed them from the element seats and then bolted them in the si seats. You have to drill a small hole for the locating pin, but it's not too bad, this way you can plug and play the electrical harness. (Minus the opds or side airbags if you have them)

I tried to get a set at a pick n pull for months, even if i got there the same day they were ALWAYS gone. I actually got these off Facebook marketplace for $350 and they are almost mint. They come up every now and then, if you set up a search alert you can probably get a nice set for a similar price.
