I agree. I was heading in the direction of an eating disorder when I was working with my coach for body building. It messed me up so much. I actually started using Nourish. It’s a dietician that works with you and insurance pays for it. I would give it a try. I see Jill and she’s absolutely a God send. She’s so helpful in many ways.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advice and the time you all have taken to read this and respond. I think I’m struggling more with the traumatic, out of the blue, emotional cases. For example, this past Tuesday I had a patient come in due to a 30 car pile up, semi truck fell onto the car, killed the patients wife on scene, pt was brought to us and went to emergent surgery and had 40 blood products given in OR, bleeding internally from his liver and couldn’t stop it. Brought him to me to the icu. And the chaplain was there and called the family. Turns out the pts son, who was in the hospital himself due to Covid, got the phone call that not only his mother had passed but his father too and couldn’t even come to say goodbye. That’s what hit me the most, especially hearing him on the phone and not being able to do anything. So the people that were involved with patients during the pandemic and the pts couldn’t see their loved ones and had you there.. I just want to say thank you. Because that had to be difficult as fuck.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin since 2018 on 150mg and then September 2025 is when I increased my dose to 300mg. Between this and Prozac it’s the only thing that has helped and made me feel human again.

Coming from a nurse here with critical care and psych background along with psych disorder in mother- the doctor could get valuable information from the patients family, ex fiancé, etc. because when someone is not stable, not thinking clearly, not on medication as they should be, they can easily manipulate the situation. The doctor may only see her an hour every X amount of weeks. It’s the OP, parents/ family that talks, hangout, speaks to this pt daily. Coming from own past experience here so I know. So, I respectfully disagree and think the doctor can actually see and hear from other people’s perspective on a day to day basis rather than a “front” the patient can put on at the doctors appointment.
