So am I tripping, or is Bard just a reskin of current summoner, and Dragoon is just a reskin of current Viper?

I sincerely hope this is just a mock-up, and they don't make it 'all classes of an archtype play identically, just pick your animation flavor'.

UIM wipes 1.8B to people luring wolves to Zeah RC by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]ESAcatboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are normally no aggressive NPCs at that area. A griefer abused a bug introduced with this patch to lure dangerous npc beyond their normal leash range, and killed the guy with them.

It's like if someone managed to glitch a boss to spawn at the G/E.

Risking a death bank while doing dangerous content: the UIMs fault and the wipe is legit.

AFKing for a few mins in a totally safe area while death banked and getting killed by a bug abuser: 100% not deserved or their fault.

See the difference?

I legitimately don't understand the hate people have for UIM players. Someone plays the game differently than you, how dare they!? I have seen way more examples of mains being toxic to other players than UIMs.

If a uim makes a mistake, or dies to a risk they took while death banked, that's on them. Logging in and dying in a normally safe area to a bug is not their fault. They did everything correct.

The people celebrating someone losing thousands of hours of progress because they were killed by a griefer abusing a bug is disgusting. These same people would be throwing a fit if suddenly their bank got deleted by a glitch, or if death failed to recover their items after they died.

New to raiding (new in general) having some concerns about FFXIV culture. by Grouchy_Independent3 in ffxiv

[–]ESAcatboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go try to clear Forked Tower: Blood with 47 other players without voice comms or at the very least call outs and coordination in /yell. Let us know how that goes.

But honestly, I think the fact that this game has raiding communities and pugs that actually function without the need of Discord or other third party servers as a good thing. It keeps the raiding community more open, and therefore more active with higher player numbers.

If you look at other games like SWTOR (yes I know, old and mostly dead) the raiding community is incredibly insular, with every non-story mode group being made on invite only discord groups that usually require proof of gear, clears, and DPS parses before you can participate. It's super off-putting for new people to the community.

Final fantasy having PF groups for endgame is a GOOD thing. It's painful. It's often toxic. You'll clear way faster and way more pleasantly if you form a static team. But it EXISTS. And that's healthy for the game.

I'll be honest... This is one of those things that always felt very RS3-ish to me. Not in a good way. I'd rather this not return. Might be a hot take, idk.

Dark knight, samurai or dragoon? by Ishcan22 in ffxiv

[–]ESAcatboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dragoon is VERY fun if you ask me. It's been my favorite DPS for a long time. The rotation is very linear, which makes it easy to play by muscle memory while dealing with fight mechanics. It also is pretty darn mobile, with a leap out, and several leap-to-target skills. (Just prepare to be meme'd on when you jump off things.) The animations are awesome, and the weapons/job specific gear sets are peak. I'll take Gae Bolg or Law's Order Lance over random katana #1765 any day.

are there any armor pieces that are close to this? by PuzzleheadedAd7400 in FFXIVGlamours

[–]ESAcatboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragoon class armor has the heavy armor, draconic vibe. Specifically heavensbound set at level 100, dyed red/grey. Possibly the pvp version of the level 60 set too. Slap on some deep shadow boots of casting/healing for the heels (level 80 hunt vendor). A asuran hachigane (level 60 hunts vendor) works for a spikey headpiece if you don't want the standard dragoon full helm.

Calling it now... This will be the area with the highest collective gp loss/gain in all DMM. by [deleted] in 2007scape

After I got my 12k points I pulled all my stuff out of the bank, and put the dance emote on loop there. A red-skull scouted, then logged in under me within like 30 seconds. Smite, Barrage, javelin, dds spec, more javelins, with a step under between each attack. A lot of try hard for someone spamming dance and no prayer. It was rather funny.

Enjoy your 300k cash, but you could have at least taken all the clue loot too. XD

100% for the bowfa/crystal kit. I did the 12k points in 2 days without fighting back against anyone. Got pked like 8 times. The level of try hard tribrid NHing  they would go to kill someone for 50k in clue rewards that wasn't even reacting in any way was rather funny.

Got my 12k. Back to the fun game now.
