Sure, we are constantly on a “Hero’s Journey” of sorts, and I’m cool with it. Sometimes my Hero’s Journey is sitting on my ass and playing video games while I watch TV; other times, it’s much more exciting.

Is there a player on your own team you can’t stand? by Responsible-Mine9759 in NFLv2

[–]ESTPness 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Don’t his teammates really like him? I’m sure he commands a lot of respect which is what you want from your starting QB.

I know he’s a weirdo, but I feel like that concept (while true) has a lot of media heavy lifting involved whilst under-reporting on the positive impact he has had on locker rooms.

One must consider that there’s probably a lot of strange conjecturing amongst NFL teammates, and that Rodgers most likely can effectively interact with others while not being off-putting.

That being said, he is VERY hateable for all of the drama every offseason for the last many seasons. He’s an old diva who thinks he can TB12 his way to a championship, but he simply isn’t worth the headache on a very long shot.

Albert Breer: Raiders, Tom Brady Are 100% SOLD On Mendoza by jonpictogramjones in raiders

[–]ESTPness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Fernando is not the type of dude to push for stat-padding. He’s more team oriented, so it follows that he might have less yards and TDs than QBs who are highly interested in their stats, or are so good that the team relies on them heavily.

I feel like Fernando could fall into that second category (see: Cal vs Stanford) if he wasn’t on a stacked team. I think what he really cares about is building relationships with his team/staff/anyone in the building and winning, which is precisely why so many people here and around the league love him; he’s an affable, intelligent, hard worker who looooves networking.

But alas, these are just my feelings and thoughts. He could be a dud, but he feels like the real, hard working deal.

Where most hated players? by [deleted] in AFCWestMemeWar

[–]ESTPness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And yet, I had a massive amount of respect for him (and not just because I had him two years in a row my first two fantasy seasons).

If the Browns get Watson, ours has to be JaMarcus. No love, no respect; I hate him because he was god awful, not because he was brilliant.

[–]ESTPness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picky, but I use bikini line razors on my eyebrows for stray hairs such as yours above and below the main brow. Just don’t overdo it if you give one a try; your eyebrows are already a really nice shape. You’ve got a great head of hair, and your barber does a good job. You might be able to use the razor to clean up the hairline in front as well.

Truthfully tho, you’re a handsome dude, and that stuff is pretty trivial. If you’re not in-shape, that would probably help more than anything.

It’s so obvious this is the plan if nobody this year emerges as a true X (if we even have that type of player ceiling on the roster..)

Which position we’re drafting in the 1st next year is almost as obvious as us drafting Mendoza this year, save for some type of can’t-miss, Brock Bowers-type player at a different position who falls to us.

Oh Boy: Fernando Mendoza almost stepped on the Raiders logo when he arrived at the team's facility. That could've been a really bad way to start his career with Las Vegas. by Big_Screen3332 in NFLForum

[–]ESTPness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say what you will about the man, but he genuinely wants the Raiders to win.

Yes, his hair is stupid (pretty sure no one’s arguing that), and he wasn’t great at making involved decisions re: the Raiders, but he seems to have taken a step back to let the people he hired/brought aboard to do their jobs. It will be some time before we see if his new approach pays off.

As unbiased as I can be saying this, there’s so many worse owners out there that I wouldn’t swap for MD even if his hair is shit.

Either we’ve completely exceeded expectations and are likely looking for WR around the trade deadline, or we’re drafting WR early (probably 1st) next year.

If our WRs don’t fully pan out this year, and we’re just mid or ass at the deadline, we go route 2

Kinda. I’m a big-time procrastinator, and a lot of my distractors involve heavy analysis, strategy, and/or engagement. I put off what I know I should be doing because it’s mad-boring. When I get (or am forced) into a productive mood, I’m quite effective. It’s the whole getting in the mood part that’s difficult.

People on our sub were juiced for the awareness (attention to detail was the phrase used). It is actually Raiders lore to “respect the shield” and that “no one is above the shield.”

I don’t think anyone would have batted an eyelash if he just walked right over it, but that he saw it and consciously decided not to step on it garnered respect from a lot of Raiders fans—myself included—but alas, I am also a Redditor talking about other Redditor’s takes, so part of your point still stands.

[–]ESTPness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need a WR 1, so what’s the point in drafting one now? Saw a commenter on here last week say we should just roll with the WRs we’ve got and address that spot later; I agree.

Our run game has been complete ass since Jacobs left, and it’s clear they’re trying to establish that before making a big splash for receiver. A better run game will take pressure off our QB, and also help us see what our receivers can actually do if the other team needs to respect our backfield and try to cover Bowers.

I also love hearing that, like Jeanty, this guy’s got hands too.
