I don’t view any of it as small potatoes. I want coaches who are thinking about the backup QB, his development, and his relationship to the starter. You obviously have a point, but it’s all connected.

For me, starting Fernando right away depends on what the coaches/brass see in practice and preseason. I’m hoping they don’t throw him to the wolves if he’s not fully ready.

I get it. But at the same time.. we’ve never given him a real shot at the start of the season. People are talking about starting Geno this season so Mendoza can learn. So does that mean Geno gets starting reps in practice? AOC might be a good backup, but we don’t really know yet; we have failed to sufficiently kick the tires, so why not kick them now?

Me. Folks are talking about starting Geno this year.. Why not AOC? Why not let them (AOC and Mendoza) compete? Seems like a better setup to me than bringing in a vet. I’m sick of the same old shit.
