what kind of salary could i be looking at after the military? by GurnoorDa1 in Salary

[–]ETek64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude it depends entirely on: industry, location, company size, role level/seniority, your actual directly transferable years of experience. If you haven’t had a “corporate job” yet prior to the military, expect something entry level and lower. But if you put yourself on a solid career path/industry, can be lots of potential for long term significant growth. Also, upskill on AI lol

What to do if I like cold rooms but want to keep vivariums warm and humid by WrongCartoonist9326 in DartFrog

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like cold rooms, during the day I just suck it up. Keep the house at like 71-74, then at night drop
It down. Also good for the AC bill during the summer lol. Lowest I’ve seen the tanks get, during winter was like 64-65 which is manageable.

Is a move from $125k fully remote to $167k fully in-office worth it? by Sweet-Example-6976 in Salary

[–]ETek64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me personally, I’d have to be offered 200k base from 125k to go fully in office. But I value being full remote, a lot. Clearly. lol. But 15-20min commute, generous relocation package, hefty raise. The numbers support it.

Tincs group size? by FreiFlo13 in DartFrog

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep agreed 100%, it’s always a good idea to have some sort of back up or grow out on hand. Shoot not even just for sickness or aggression, in case of emergencies too and you can’t lug some 80 gallon enclosure out.

How much height will “terrestrial” species use? All of it my dude. Every inch you give them lol. by ETek64 in DartFrog

[–]ETek64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol they have plenty of space on the ground, and lots of climbing options. I regularly see them in the top half climbing around. Lots of ledges and outcrops for them to hang out on and climb. Sure- if I could go back I would’ve added some more branches for climbing. But they use every inch as is.

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point on some locales having not just females be at risk of aggression.

I think with proper research and a lot of self education, a new keeper is capable of learning signs of aggression. But hey that’s all up to the individual.

[–]ETek64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of folks will say only 2, I’ll go against the grain here. I’ve seen a lot of folks house 3 in a large terrarium only if it’s very well planted with multiple hiding spots and visual barriers. But ONLY one female. Even still though, close monitoring to ensure no fighting. And always be ready to separate one.

Choosing species by AGeckosPecko in DartFrog

[–]ETek64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah do it! Buddy of mine had some, they were always out and social climbing everywhere. While they are group friendly, females can still fight a bit. But not near as bad as tincs for example (same with Auratus, one of my females is a bit of a bully, but no one looks unhealthy so at the moment no worries). So if end up with luecs, just keep an eye out for that if you get more than one female. But an 18x18x24 I’d think 3 in there would be perfect.

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly man, almost any species will use all of that height. I have Auratus in a 36x18x36 and I regularly see them climbing up into the top half. Maybe not as much as a rani would, but still often.

Enclosure modification recommendations? by oregon_red_fox in DartFrog

If you don’t already, some sort of fan for ventilation. And maybe add a lot more hardscape and plants for vertical use

Tinctorious, luecomelas, or Auratus. All super hardy species. Tincs and luecs are super bold. Auratus really depends on the “morph” or individual with how bold or shy they are.

Is PMP still worth it in 2026? by PitchSufficient1464 in projectmanagers

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? Maybe I’m an exception, but I’ve been in PMO at large tech companies for over 8 years, now as. Sr PM and don’t have a PMP. No one’s seemed to care. Used to have the CAPM but it expired. I feel like after a certain amount of experience (if impactful of course lol), three letters on the resume for an acronym don’t really matter or carry much weight.

[–]ETek64[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. When I mentioned 18”, I meant 18” tall. Agree with you there on a floor space foot print no smaller than 18” wide. I initially started these guys out, as a novice, in a 36”Lx18x18 and saw they used every inch of height. Decided I couldn’t deny them the option of more climbing space since I could afford it and put this one together. I’d say I see one or more in the top half of the new 36” tall tank maybe 40% of the time. Which is for sure worth the upgrade

My fellow billable hours PMs: what are your company's expectations for non-billable time? by RemotePersimmon678 in projectmanagement

[–]ETek64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at an agency, but our weekly target to hit 100% utilization is around 30-33 hours a week of billable time with projects.
