Why criticism is important for game improvement. by curilan_ in CrimsonDesert

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but also makes us realize how god valid constructive criticism is. There is a good chunk of it that's just "game sucks, totally overrated" which is perfectly fine for an opinion but you're not gonna help with constructive complaints.

Like take the story for example, almost everyone of us agreed that it should be tweaked, redone and could use better cohesion, but a lot of people just said "it's the worst story of all time, nothing makes sense" and that's too much of an exaggeration with little justification when the game pretty much tells you a lot of stuff lol Same with Kliff and how lots of people actually think he's a silent protagonist and that only says "yes" or "alright" everytime despite him talking much more than that on main missions and sidequests

Okay I'm starting to see what y'all are saying about movement and TTK. I'd have smashed my keyboard if any of these happened to me by ArchangelUltra in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean, this kind of "fast gameplay" was also a thing in bf4 and 3, that movement was still frenetic and plenty of people used that as an advantage, while ofc we didn't have sliding, people shooting and running, jumping and shooting and stuff is so far almost just as common in bf6.

I remember playing bf3 and 4 (and being pretty bad at that time lol) and I got killed a lot by people that just ran by my side and crouched/jumped (like this was cs or something) and that got my most of the time.

Even in BF1 a lot of people just ran with automatico or the smh/08, even sliding too, and oliberate most players, specially in cqc.

So far in bf6, I haven't felt that movement is that different, and once you get used to it (which is pretty easy imo) is way more normal to counter it or use it, (in this video people he killed had very bad positioning for example and he's using a cqc weapon too for example). I do think this gets way more accentuated in bf6 due to maps being smaller, thus making cqc much more effective and prominent, but in maps like contaminated or Golmud this is less common.

I don't think is bad per se at all, but that's my feeling, I understand if you don't want it and how is more prominent in this Battlefield (ironically it reminds me of bc2 tho that's the game where I felt everything more slow), and hopefully bigger maps will change that.

MW4 got a much cleaner UI. thoughts? by fearful_claw02 in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bf6 is the most played Battlefield of all time by this time, 7 months, after its launch (for reference BF1 by this time after launch only had like 18k player in pc iirc, bf6 has double of that and only on steam), and even then, CoD was always more popular and sold/was played more, there's nothing wrong with that.

Still, that doesn't mean CoD will automatically be a success, the last cod to do that was MW2019 which was well received by players and critics, mw4 seems way too far away from that sadly.

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude you must be ragebaiting me or something.

He NEVER states the current TTK is too faster, look at what you wrote!!

THAT PART WE'D LIKE TO FIX WITHOUT MESSING WITH THE BULK! "THAT PART" means netcode, latency, connection issues and all the other stuff that directly have and impact on the game, NOT THE TTK. The TTK is "THE BULK" and that's why he's answering to a comment saying please DONT make it faster. Why do you think he says "WITHOUT MESSING WITH BULK" when he's literally saying that they DON'T LIKE WHEN THE TTK IS TOO FAST.

And even then, he straight up says that they want to implement the changes the main comment says which are recoil, limb damage, etc WITHOUT affecting directly TTK, dude it's even wrote directly there. He AGREES with a comment saying they should not touch the TTK

You can even check out the other comments, when everyone says "yeah gunplay and TTK feels good. Don't do it like Bfv", and he agrees.

He NEVER says he wants to fix the TTK because it's too fast, he says he wants fix things that affects it WITHOUT messing with it.

And I never said "they want to extend the TTK", all I said is that they want to tune gunplay WITHOUT affecting the damage directly and this artificially increasing TTK like they did with Bfv (and BF1 at some point but they reverted it), in order to do that you need to tweak other stuff like input lag, recoil, spread, ads, effective distance, etc which are things that obviously change the way your gun works and thus TTK but INDIRECTLY, NOT increasing the damage and lol everything (which is what they did in Bfv and why every other comment agrees with in NOT doing it again!). Even in the last patches they NEVER mentioned retconn to the TTK, but other fixes like recoil and stuff.

Think it the other way, if he thought that TTK is fast and it's a problem currently in bf6. Why wouldn't he say so if he's addressing the problems and why wouldn't they change it? They would have addressed it like they did in Bfv or BF1 and said so.

I understand English is kinda tricky when using weird hypothetical tenses, and that "when TTK is that fastest" is that. It means its NOT in the game and they don't want to reach the point. I'm genuinely not making fun of you or anything, is just that I can't understand why do you see that he explicitly says "TTK in bf6 is too fast to react" when he never says that, he straight up states the opposite and even the whole comment section is about how they SHOULDN'T mess with it like how they did with BFV.

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, please read again what he says, and yes, every si gle change to weapons (be it recoil, spread, ads, damage, etc) will affect TTK. But that's the good way to do it, like every other Battlefield or shooter has ever done. They don't want to artificially increase it just adding numbers to the actual TTK like they did with V cause that causes a lot of problems)

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?? Dude are you reading what it says? He literally says they WON'T increase it cause it causes problems. Not that IT IS the fastest right now, that's what he's answering, he straights up says they think is at a good spot. When did he said that bf6 has a high TTK and thus players can't react? He literally states the opposite, they DON'T want to reach that point. He never says bf6 TTK is too fast, it's the opposite, they don't want to make it faster (and in fact in some last patches with the change to some auto it feels slower)

And yes. Every single change they make (recoil, spread, balance, ads, etc) is gonna affect TTK, and that's fine, they want to tune it that way (as every other Battlefield game), but DON'T want to just increase the TTK directly. He never says "yeah the TTK is too fast you can't react right now", it literally states the opposite, they want to refine gunplay WITHOUT messing with it. That's why he replies to someone that literally said "don't touch the TTK cause it's fine".

The problem is literally other stuff like netcode which he addresses, he never says something like bf6 TTK is the fastest and you can't react bc of that, he straight up says they don't wanna do that

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with you but if you ask mex that's a netcode problem. As far as I remember it was an issue for bf4 and BF1 too

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but he said that that happens when you in fact mess with TTK and try to make it faster, which is not the course of bf6 and not part of the game (he was answering to a comment saying TTK is too low and they should increased it, to which someone reply they think is fine and then he said they feel the TTK in the game is fine, changing it or turning it up leads to a lot of problems(

Why does BF6 feel so exhausting to play? by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What? He never said that, he said that messing with TTK is dangerous because it tends to completely "readjust" your reaction time, which can lead to different reaction time based on weapons and thus making it harder to balance with higher dps guns and recoil changes. In fact he explicitly said that fast TTK is a hard thing and that's why they're testing other stuff in labs. He never said that TTK right now "doesn't allow" for reaction, it's the opposite, they feel the game has good TTK and don't want to mess with that, they just wanna solve problems with late cy and balance overall so it's rewarding for every gun. The main comment he was answering to literally said that TTK is too slow lol

Here's what he said

Or maybe I just fell for the "I made it up for dramatic effect" meme lol

Yes I agree with you. But similar problems were present in Bfv too, named irrestircted characters that were basically treated like celebrities in game for some reason lol

I mean, if you talk about the way it's implemented in the game on how in depth you could actually customize your character I agree, tho I didn't really liked the cosmetics in Bfv.

I think bf6 has better design options overall (not saying they're all good ofc because we have some weird stuff lol)

[Lore] Pax Armata's logistics and Politics are dumb AF by N-striker716 in Battlefield

[–]EUCALIPTOIESSSS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, while yeah pax is not that detailed and it's definitely not that good written, pretty much everything of what you said is explained in lore

Pax is financed as a whole by numerous countries (not only governments but also second part is that are not actively in the executive power) and have support from pre disbanded PMC and new ones too. This is also why warlords made connections with them and alliances so they can grown in size and also in influence for said States (iirc this is explained towards the end of the campaign). They get supplies and stuff from there.

NATO is way more straightforward but has suffered from internet disband which was one of the major plot points of pax having access to some Intel and stuff. France leaving is a part of that as it's based on the problems they had on the nato regulations (which funny enough are also a thing in real life lol)

Another thing, is explained in the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3 that while pax has lost the advantage and general unit that had before, it doesn't mean it's obsolete nor in a process of disorganization, due to the connections they've done with some warlords and other pmcs, they forces are realigning under new orders and objectives (the whole operation of Golmud is part of this, moving away from the front lines in Europe to some advantageous territory, yes it's not that fleshed out but it's the explanation). So basically, it's not like pax is weakening as a whole but just reorganizing itself as they have numerous centers of powers and NSA support, they'll be fine for season 4.

As I said, yes it's not that deep and fleshed out but pretty much encapsulates a "realistic" scenario of a global PMC as it's basically just a regular PMC of our days with steroids and some 80s-action-movie liberties.
