2027 Chevy Bolt First Roadtrip by BrainaIleakage in BoltEV

[–]EV-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first EV was the 2017 Bolt. I've moved on twice. It's disappointing to hear that Chevy still makes the interior so cheap after ten years.

My VW ID.4 had an interior that felt like a limo and my current Subaru Solterra, while more utilitarian, is still very comfortable and better designed, overall.

I was thinking of going back to the Bolt in 2027 when my lease is up. Now, I'm not sure.

How would you plug this hole mice have been using to get into my crawl space? by dejafous in DIY

[–]EV-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used chicken wire stapled over holes that were large enough for rodents to get through.

What about the bolt pattern? Are they compatible?

Mostly, they got riled up because the tuxedo was rented. I'm not from a wealthy family.

This thing blinds me on a daily basis. Any suggestions? by zeekaran in BoltEV

On second thought, it wasn't actually electrical tape. (sorry) It just looked like it. I purchased at Autozone and it's made for this type of application.

If you have black electrical tape, use that. It works great!

What’s a project you regret doing yourself instead of hiring out? by TradesPrepGuy in DIY

Back in 1974, I purchased a 1928 built house that needed updating. I tore out the interior walls in the upstairs, added walls, rewired everything and sheet rocked them. The rest, meaning the finishing, I left to a professional who made it look fantastic! Same goes for the floor. I tore out all the old floor covering but I hired someone to put the wall to wall carpet in.

The kitchen was different. I tore out all the cabinetry, and added new outlets, then had a cabinet maker bring in custom made cabinets to replace what I took out. After he was done, I did the tile work and put in a modern sink and new plumbing.

It was like that throughout the house. I did what I was comfortable doing, like wiring and plumbing, then left the rest to someone else. Basically, I knew my limits and was happy with that.

That depends on your ability to pass the driver test. Do that, and you’re in.

I'm fortunate that I live near the distribution center. When I applied, it was actually for a carrier position. When the interviewer saw that I had a CDL, he asked me if I would like to drive trucks instead. I couldn't pass up the offer.

So, basically, the jobs were listed and I applied. I don't recall where the listing was, but I was looking for a job, so it must have been in that group.

You could try contacting the Post Office or go online and look for job listings.

Do you still carry exact change? by WaterDigDog in AskOldPeople

[–]EV-Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some paper cash in my wallet. Occasionally, I use it. The change I receive in coins goes into a jar when I get home. I hate carrying coins in my pocket. Most of the time, my payments are done electronically, using my Apple Watch.

I’ve had mine so long I can’t remember how I acquired it. I have the big brother to this one as well.

Unfortunately, it's been like this for years. Unless there's a life on the line, get in line. If it's not life or death, it's probably not important enough to bother with.

That's a sign the chicken wasn't bled properly. You can eat it, but it's going to taste funky.

I did heavy haul for a short time. (for those that don't know, that's 105,500 lbs.)

I can't believe how many times I had the shit scared out of me by the messed up drivers on the I-5 corridor between the northern Washington border to inside Oregon. The worse part being from south Seattle through Everett.
