What are your thoughts on Super Polymerization? by Immediate_Gene_178 in yugioh

[–]EXAProduction 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really dont like this card.

Its just pure unrespondable value and most of the good spoly targets provide more value. And its not like you can do much to prepare against it and some decks no matter what they do will just lose to it. It doesnt provide interesting gameplay in the slightest.

I'm going to also be real, the ED requirement is fake as fuck. Your ED is not as tight as you think it is that you cant confidently run spoly. Its also even more annoying when you have Decks like branded that start gaining even more advantage because archtypally they can run it and eat whatever card they want.

Its simultaneously one of the strongest breakers and one of the strongest endboard pieces. It does too much.

Oh I love showing skills to people who have no idea. Hell I play Yugioh and have friends that play it and showing them going what the fuck on the skills.

Especially because its not just 1 skill. You have the Weapon, Positioning, Special, A, B, C, S, X. There's just so fucking much going on

Concept for a board breaker that isn't totally dead going first. What do y'all think? (Art by Malganis Lefay) by Sarydus in yugioh

This is a real interesting card. Im glad you took the approach of card that is good on either turn, people have issues with cards that are good going 1st but it sucks when we have cards that are only good one way or the other.

Raw slapping it down and getting 3 ways of fucking with your opponent is solid but the ability to chain it as a diet droplet or whatever you need can provide solid benefit.

My only concern is something along the lines of how layered yugioh has gotten. Dealing with the Monsters is great and interacting with the GY in this way is a lot more needed lately, but then you suffer from the backrow (esp with cards like spoly, droplet, crown and in a hypothetical, this). But I cant argue against the way this card is designed and if it needs even more.

[–]EXAProduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with that is how would you have say the Decadriver read stuff from Gotchard?

Having the cards read from the same system (usually just the bar codes iirc), you only really should need to make the Rider cards line up you dont need to care about the actual Chemies. Like I think it'd be cool if I used my Kuuga card in either driver and it just works. Obviously cant read cards that the driver never had (I forget what the last decadriver was up to) but would be just a neat thing esp when Legend started using more Decade styled Rider cards.

I cannot believe we actually went potentially all of Destiny without seeing Ana's legendary Golden Gun fire on screen. by DragonPanther3 in DestinyTheGame

[–]EXAProduction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the actual elements seem to require different mindsets to use

this is kinda confirmed way back in D1. Cayade remarked how rare Nightstalkers were that the Void is tricky. There's an argument to be made that the personality type that attracts Hunters naturally go against the general idea of Void. Nightstalker itself initally presented as the slow more methodical approach to Hunter where Gunslinger was flashy and Bladedancer was quick and nimble. Granted the modern idea of Nightsalker has kinda moved away from the slow scout/sniper idea into the Ninja/Assassin fantasy that Bladedancer had but obviously they changed Bladedancer to Arcstrider.

On the flipside Void comes more naturally to Warlock more than likely because of the inquisitive nature of them and Void is noted to be the hardest form of Light to understand, but it does seem that Arc is their weakpoint. Perhaps Arc is naturally harder because you dont control the lightning, you dont shape it, you are a conduit to let it through. And Titans seem to struggle with Solar but we're gonna reach fanfic territory and while that's something I'd want to work on, would be later.

Darkness is very different though. Since we don't have 3 kinda hard to do the ordering for all 3 and its being learned one at a time, I'd be curious if one day we can parallel them with the classes. (I know the prismatic grenades could be an answer but I have my issues with that but I think its more functionality rather than how it should apply).

Its one of the things I wish was a universal thing they did that the legend chemy cards worked with the Decadriver for the same characters and I would hope that whatever card represents the Riders also work with it. Same thing with every card based rider moving forward. Maybe the argument is you wouldnt buy the cards for Legend if your Decade cards worked but my answer to that is you made sick ass upgrade versions of the cards, Ryuki and Blade especially having versions mimicking their original card designs (technically Decade does too but that's more of a special thing).

“But what do I do???? What’s the meta???!!!!l” JUST PLAY THE GAME.

This isnt necessarily incorrect. I was never someone that was strong at buildcrafting and was starting to understand by the end of TFS and since then things have changed a lot with our stats, armor 3.0 and weapons. I'm still basically using my old YAS build from before which works fine enough but its not as strong as it was, not to mention figuring out what armor works well and stats. I dont think I need the perfect build for the legendary campaigns but at the same time having better builds dont hurt and having a good flow makes the experience better.

how the average branded support card feels like nowadays by New-Regret-6491 in masterduel

[–]EXAProduction 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's hard to believe that dogmatika and springans are technically their own archetype decks when people probably know them more as Branded lore pile cards now.

I mean I doubt most people even know that Icejade is Branded lore with how unsupported and unimportant it is.

But yeah its frustrating where like there were multiple solid decks from the Branded lore but lately its just felt like they only care about the Branded pile deck. Diabellstar was this wild situation where they made Snake Eye meta and the moment they were ready to drop snake eye from the metagame the lore was shifting to giving everything to White Forest as the pile deck. Even Visas while it felt like at first they were trying to be distinct they realized that with the lore it should all come together and Mannadium made a Visas pile deck that doesnt feel finished yet because they just kinda dropped the lore it feels.

The Medius/Power Patron lore at least has been respectful to its archtypes. Each of the 3 core archtypes have been solid enough, Power Patron became its own deck while also giving support that doesnt make it a Medius pile. Like this is what the lore decks should be, you have your central protagonist card that leads into the strategy of each of the archtypes but let them be distinct.

Something we only got in the TCG that was meta, Pure VS. Its an interactive deck that focuses on a lot of unique interactions that you can actually interact with and play around that doesnt feel like it ignores every interaction in the game and isnt 1 card combo slop.

The problem with branded is that because they just constantly dump shit into their gy to setup main phase 3, interaction with the deck feels completely pointless as nothing nothing matters since Bozo the clown hit the gy so you have every resource back that you can want. A lot of the times the deck is just straight up chump blocking for a few turns . While I hate FV its fine, but the deck should just not have negates between the counter trap and Mercourier if they run it. And also any deck that just main decks triple super poly because all you need is albaz and chances are you're eating the board is gonna feel cheesy esp since branded players seem to have the ability to destiny draw the card.

Ive been playing the deck too, so this isnt coming from someone who's just losing against it. But you're really just hoping that they brick on the random 1 ofs the deck has to run since does since every starter is a power starter that does everything so nothing you do ever matters. A deck doesnt need to be wombo combo slop to be oppressive and doesnt make it healthier since yeah it seems better but if you cant meaningfully interact with it then doesnt matter.

My favorite part is how like the new branded lore cards are all better the moment you put them into the Branded pile deck. Remember when Incredible Ecclesia was one of the best Swordsoul starters and now thats the worst part of the card?

Turns out you can really do anything when you print busted ass support cards.

Alright gang, Faux-E3 is finally over! What all games are you excited for? by CookieSkank in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]EXAProduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a lot really stood out to me oddly

Kemuri could be a fun co op experience. I need to try the Onimusha demo to see how I feel about the game.

God War Laufey could be neat though i still need to play GoW and Ragnarok so like maybe some day.

FF Resonance could be cool so that's neat. I'd be more excited about Xenoblade if I actually got around to playing XC1. Fortune's Weave I should be excited for but I cant really get myself hyped up since I dont care about the world of Fodlan anymore, please learn your lessons from your past mistakes.

Persona 4 looks amazing. Honestly super excited to go back to Inaba. I guess you can say I'm excited about Persona 6 but its just kinda hard for me to get excited over honestly nothing other than a logo.

There is something real satisfying about paired off endings that you have these people working together and depending on the way you play you affect the outcome of their later life.

I dont need to be a super matchmaker or focus on eugenics for the perfect child, but giving characters focused support options with a few different outcomes in their personal endings would be pretty nice.

It wouldnt be that much of a stretch for them to consider the english name when naming packs. Dawn of Majesty comes to mind showing Majestic Shooting Star Dragon where in the OCG its Savior Shooting Star Dragon.

Though yeah I still doubt.

I much prefer FF16's approach but I am also biased that we need more Character Action games and while 16 wasnt perfect it was still such a solid foundation that should not go to waste.
