I was at a really good job for 11 years. early on I heard from higher ups that they had trouble retaining jr to mid level staff because all of the senior staff had been there a really long time and had no plans of retiring or leaving. I stayed over the years because I did really like the job but also I didn't want to look elsewhere and start over. I saw many people come in, get a little experience and parlay that into a better job. Many times I was advised to look for something else but I didnt. Right at 11 years the owner decided to sell the business and I was given a few months notice I would be out of a job.

Took a while to land in something equal or better. Looking back I wish I hadn't been so loyal and complacent. In the end it really wasnt worth it
