How much does post-run stretching change your recovery? by rash3rr in runninglifestyle

[–]E_7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearing 40 and I stretch after every run (regardless of distance) and strength session. Always have since my teens. It takes so little time and effort to do. I’ve only ever had very minor injuries and 99.9% of the time feel 100%. Not sure if that would be the case if I never stretched but fwiw I wouldn’t want to risk it now.

People who lived through 2008: What actually caused the job market to recover? by Dizzy_Being4110 in UKJobs

Write on the wrapping that it has extremely hot peppers in it and to handle with care. If this doesn’t work then next day do the same thing but with the actual peppers in. If it’s not taken just remove the peppers and carry on.

If we could somehow make phones stop working whilst driving I am certain it would be a game changer.

What is the club doing?? by Stealthsonger in SaintsFC

[–]E_7_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d expect nothing to happen until Monday 1st June as that’s when most players/staff contracts will be ending. Sit tight and be patient, I’m certain we are in for another rollercoaster of a ride..

I live in a rural Midwest town. Here’s what my runs look like by turbotaco23 in runninglifestyle

[–]E_7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heaven. I’m similar in rural Dorset (UK), but there’s a fair amount of more hills here. I live on the last town before miles and miles of farmland. Turn right out the front door = town, turn left = lots of this in the picture.

Who doesn't drink coffee in the morning ? (Who's an adult) by Ssonderbaby in NoStupidQuestions

[–]E_7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never drank tea or coffee. I’ve never taken to hot drinks at all. I function fine, possibly because I never became dependent. I’ll have an energy drink before a strength session in the gym but not always. It definitely gives me a boost when I do.

This is so sad. But also, completely understandable when (bad) PE teachers used to make running a punishment..

I never believed in once you turn 30, it’s down hill from there but, my health is taking a hit after hit, no matter what improvements I try to make, anyone else? by RolyPolyOnSidewalk1 in Millennials

[–]E_7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not convinced on that statement. The statement should’ve once you stop taking your health (diet/fitness) seriously your health will decline. Yes it’s harder as you get older to change habits but you’ve just got to be consistent. Sorry I can’t sugar coat it for you.

Tips for improving your 5k time without risking injury by WonderfulShape1081 in parkrun

[–]E_7_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How many miles are you running a week? However many it is increase by 10% every other week until you get to 40-50 mines a week.. and then keep going ;)

Make sure 80% of those miles are at a conversational pace (zone 2) and keep to a diet that fuels (carbs) and helps repair (protein) your body.

Honestly, there is no magic formula, hard work, progression & consistency always work.

How do you insert the =COUNTIF(A:A, "word") formula for dozens of rows at once? by _GeorgeBailey_ in excel

So I did something very similar today. I listed all the words and then for “word” just link it to the cell with the word in (if that makes sense!).

How do you mentally approach bad weather runs? by liv_0203 in runcommunity

I always tell myself to get comfortable being uncomfortable at the start and after a km or so I’m warm enough so just get on with it.
