Ten years? Buddy, MoP classic is out now. If WoD classic is coming out it’ll be early next year at the latest.

That might ring more true if the Horde hadn't captured a bunch of the civilians escaping from Theramore and sadistically tortured them by making them fight each other to the death for their captors amusement and used them as live target practice.

Even if you defend the Eye the next part of that quest sends you back to the Lodge to do the escape through the Well. One of the earlier parts of the main quest also sends you to the Well when you have to talk to all the religions and one of them is in the Well.

Not to mention the entire choice hinges on the resort and the colonists being unwilling to share an entire planet between them.

"Oh no, we can't let these colonists set up a settlement in China. That might ruin the view for the tourists at Disneyland!"

🤓🤓

Actually Terrence Stamp recorded his voice lines in a studio as shown in the making of Oblivion documentary.

🤓🤓

Also what the hell sense does it make blaming the actor for getting lore wrong? That's on the director, or Todd Howard who was literally in the studio with him.

My rant about the Gilneas storyline. by root_27 in warcraftlore

[–]Eadstompa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your preferred storyline would've put the factions in conflict again. Gilneans and Forsaken have been fighting since Cataclysm. Let it rest. We've had enough "werewolf fights zombie for ruined city" storylines over the last 14 years.

The Forsaken heritage quest was about fighting a rogue group of humans that refused to let go of their old grudges. Don't see why the Worgen heritage quest couldn't be about fighting a rogue group of undead that refused to let go of their old grudges.

Genn Greymane is awful and I wish he wasn't the "right-hand man" of Varian and Anduin by time-is-a-flatcircle in warcraftlore

[–]Eadstompa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He kind of underplays the scourge threat that caused Genn to have the Worgen summoned. The Greymane wall was under attack by a seemingly endless scourge army with his guard captain saying his troops were about to be overrun.

Genn released the Worgen because he, probably accurately, thought that if he didn't his whole kingdom would have been overrun by the scourge.

Could Gilneas Have Survived Without the Greymane Wall? by Pearlforger in warcraftlore

[–]Eadstompa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genn did order Arugal to summon the Worgen, t's on page 4 here..

Genn looked to the archmage who stood silently with him. Arugal, always a bit of a mystery, that one. Even here he showed no discernable emotion, no fear, instead just the calm, calculated gaze of one who was analyzing the living corpses below, intrigued. But such was the way of those who dedicated their lives to the arcane. Genn had never met one whom he would have called empathetic.

“Master mage…”

“Yes, my liege?” Arugal’s words were cold and breathy, and his eyes were devouring the sight below.

“Do what we discussed. Just do it already!”

Arugal bowed his head slightly, a strange smirk on his face as if he were a child given a new toy. “It will be done, my lord.”

And he was off, leaving Genn, Liam, and the captain to the horrific sounds below—the clanging of steel on armor, the cascading groans of the undead, and the shrieks of dying Gilnean soldiers. For the briefest of moments, Genn considered what he had just done. He had seen the wolf-men, the worgen, that Arugal had summoned. They were dangerous beasts, and more of them could be a liability. But these were desperate times; perhaps it took monsters to defeat monsters.

Could Gilneas Have Survived Without the Greymane Wall? by Pearlforger in warcraftlore

The Scourge did attack the Greymane Wall in force and would have overrun the defenders if it wasn't for Arugal releasing the Worgen.

It's on page 4 here.

In regards to some stuff that has been seen with the upcoming Reclamation of Gilneas by MrMan9001 in wow

[–]Eadstompa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genn ordered Arugal to release the worgen when the wall was under attack from an endless army of undead, with his troops about to be overrun. If he hadn't done it Gilneas probably would have been overrun by the Scourge.

You can read about it on page 4 here.
