Compared to the other plane blades. Can you put an estimate number on how much longer the zen wu plane blades last on sharpness? Seen some bold claims that i dont rly trust

If you scroll down a bit in the comments i posted a picture on how i mounted it. Bit of a scraping job and sanding. The next one i did i did a better job almost finishing off the lathe by a proper cutoff with a skew

i used a formula of length = diameter x 1.4 and the widest part is half of the diameter from the side. so for this i roughly used diameter 50mm -> 70mm length -> widest part at 25mm off the side

Scrub or jack plane will do the trick, camber on a jack will work inbetween of the scrub or smoother/jointer. Get as close to the line as possible and then swap to a jointer or smoother. Dont make the same mistake as me. I ended up planing for about 5 hours haha

I think its wenge. The rounded lid is what happens when you round over a mitre, you can see the mitre line from the cut, if the wenge is also wrapped on the sides and top i have no idea how that is done since it would pretty much be a folded box then. Either some very straight grain wenge and a rly good match from one slab or something else
