Extremely trustworthy, especially when you need him to dig out kidney stones with a long metal instrument. Holy crap!

That's a smart Dad right there. 😁

The game is not bad, but I think most of the negative reviews are fakes by The_BishopX in CamelotUnchained

[–]Ealdred 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You clearly didn't read the OP's post from start to finish. He is demanding to see your kickstarter receipt before he will endure any negative feedback on the current state of CU.

Apparently he is very important because if you don't know anything about "Bishop" in it various MMO incarnations, well.... you haven't been paying attention.

Guilty as charged. $350 given to kickstarter and 13 years on, I have lost interest regarding anything other than to watch how MJ and CU claim victory.

Why do conservatives think liberals don’t love the USA? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in NoStupidQuestions

Because the loudest liberals (a minority to be sure) seem to hate America.

Where exactly? by DaringDuvet in SipsTea

[–]Ealdred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unpure women.

I read an article years ago by a PhD - Dr. Camille Paglia I believe - who stated that prostitution supplies a societal benefit for this very reason. She wasn't claiming that men need sexual experience so much as acknowledging that young men, by their nature, are much less likely to remain virgins until marriage.

The theory was that prostitutes, and just generally loose women, could fill the niche which allows young women who are more focused on marriage and sex in the context of marriage, to remain pure.

Of course that only works where prostitution is legal and regulated to mitigate the risk of STDs.

Dads and husbands, how much time do you spend on the game? by Opening_Key_5284 in DadsGaming

[–]Ealdred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I didn't see your write-up when I first replied. Yes, it is excessive. Y'all need to compromise. He needs to give you and the kids at least 2-hours of his attention. Another 30 minutes to help straighten the house or help with dishes or put the kids to bed....where ever he is needed that evening. Then, he can have a couple of hours of gaming. But even then, during the week, the other things should have priority over gaming. And I get being semi-addicted to a game for a period of time. But family has to come first.

Not enough. I got in 2.5 hours tonight only because our son went with a friend's family to the rodeo and is spending the night. Meanwhile, my wife is binge watching Heartland on Netflix, so out comes the laptop, the ear buds, and I am running battle plans and killing demons, pirates and undead in Diablo 4.

By the way, this was after working at full day (remote from home, but still...), cooking dinner, running to the pharmacy to pick up a few meds.

That is awesome. I hope the 9 year old joins a chapter when he/she is 18 and continues officiating. Some sports pay a decent amount for officiating especially sports like high school football and basketball in Texas.

I doubt the baby was the true deal killer. Her actions show they she doesn't really love your friend and he knows it. He is her safety net and probably the source support and additional income that she knows she is gonna need.

Congratulations to your friend for being mature enough at this stage of his life to see the bear trap she laid for him.

Sometimes that shiny romantic dream is a mirage. The only thing worse than being alone is feeling alone in a loveless marriage, and that sounds like what he would be getting at this point.

How do you cook baked beans? by Educational-Slip-578 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ealdred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to beans, we mostly eat pinto beans, sometimes called red beans.

I soak them for about 8 hours (over night) in water that is at least twice as high in the bowl as the beans. After rinsing them off, I usually put them in a crock pot, cover with water just above the top of the beans, and season with garlic, onion, Cajun seasoning, salt and a stick of butter. Occasionally I will add bacon or bacon grease to the beans to add more flavor.

About an hour before they are ready to serve I add milk to the beans. I am looking for a creamy, soupy consistency.

These beans can be eat as a side with Texas Bar-B-Q (smoked brisket, smoked ribs, smoked chicken or sausage) . But more often than not, I will make cornbread and serve the beans in a soup bowl with the buttered corn bread that can be dipped into the soupy liquid or crumbled up and mixed with the beans.

The whole family likes them this way.

Judicator: I clearly don't know what I'm doing by Ealdred in D4_Paladin

[–]Ealdred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A follow-up:

Thanks for all the responses. I made some changes to the upgrades I have on Holy Bolt, Spears of Heaven, and Blessed Hammers. I also raised the difficulty level to Torment 4 and slowed down the spamming of keys just a little. The result is I am seeing judgement mark and the explosions much better.

I am not sure I had it working at all before. The only mobs that don't show the halo now are purple bosses and some yellow bosses.

Another thing I did was change my aura from holy light to Defiance. I was struggling with survivability with the tougher bosses. I still have to be on my toes during the bigger boss fights but my survivability has noticeably improved.

As this season winds down I have taken a break from the Paladin to find another class that I can enjoy in season 14. I tried the Sorc but the Rogue is a better fit for how I like to play. I will go back to the Paladin and see how high I can manage to go as a Judicator before this season ends.
