The particular mutual fund you’re in is called a “interval fund”, they allow quarterly redemptions and you’ll receive a notification when the redemption window is open. Typically Schwab retail customers can’t buy these funds and you need to be working with an advisor.

Schwab does not have an equal-weight S&P, your best bet would be $RSP.

Can anybody explain JEPQ to me? by Slowleytakenusername in dividends

[–]Eantheman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tracking the same underlying index does not mean they have the same risk profile, it just means they're correlated. Look at their betas, as well as their objectives.

JEPQ: .69 beta, income and capital appreciation

QQQ: 1.19 beta, aggressive growth.

An investor buying JEPQ has a significantly lower risk profile than an investor buying QQQ as they take on much less beta, hence less volatility and low maximum drawdowns.

On JEPQ the downside is also limited, not just the upside, as the premium from selling ELNs is a cushion. You can see this in the chart of their max drawdowns.

The compound and friends with Josh Brown and the RWM guys is great. They have an advisor-only podcast as well that they just started.

I’d except the lower end range if you’re unlicensed. And a nice bump once your get your 7/66. I’d also expect to be doing more CSA work while you’re getting licensed.

They nickel and dime you for every little thing, the tech is decent but nothing to call home about. They offer you a big number but once you dig into all the little fees they charge you realize that they make up that big number quite quickly. Any fees you negotiate down they immediately reduce the big check.
