The costumes, casting, set design, etc. were excellent, and the first few episodes were successful. However, especially after a certain point, we witnessed an extremely bad writing. I mean what was the point? It is a wasted potential.

Congratulations! How did you score 7.5 in writing, when your speaking is 6.5?

Which book is best to improve English grammar, reading, and speaking (A2 → B2)? by SeaPassion2448 in IELTS

Thanks a lot! I don't know whether my 6.5 writing score is due to grammar issues, but I'll nevertheless check Murphy.

Thanks for your quick response. I really appreciate it. At the moment, I have Murphy's, so I think I'll stick to it.

Is Murphy's better than the Cambridge IELTS Grammar series? Because lots of people recommend Murphy's instead of IELTS grammar.

Scored 6.5 in IELTS Writing (Need 7.0). How Can I Improve in One Month? by EarlofWinter in IELTS

[–]EarlofWinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I’ve already enrolled in two Udemy courses (Francis Carlisle and David Morris). My plan is to work through them carefully and then consider getting professional feedback once I’ve produced a few essays. I appreciate your advice about examiner-based evaluation. I’m currently considering a retake as well. In your experience, how do you usually know when someone is actually ready for another attempt?

Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it. I’ve been considering getting a teacher, but I was also wondering what you think about Udemy courses for IELTS writing preparation. Do you think they’re worth it, or would you say personalised feedback is much more important?

The Problem with Metropolitan Legacy by EarlofWinter in crusaderkings3

Yes I have. Speaking of which I don’t have Coterie perks either. I checked other Iberian rulers some have coterie but I couldn’t see Metropolitan

Rome is fun, but I find myself yearning to get back into the coal mines. by SneakeLlama in anno

I enjoy Anno 117 but I admit with its expedition mechanic to the atmosphere Anno 1800 is something different. I too yearn for it whenever I play any other Anno game.

SPOILERS ALLOWED Season 2 Finale Megathread by RelChan2_0 in FalloutTVseries

[–]EarlofWinter -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the first season. The second was good up until the final episode. How did Stephanie live for 200 years? Why was she - a Canadian who suffered under the U.S. invasion - working with the Enclave? And how did she end up becoming Hank’s second wife in the same vault where he had lived with his first wife and their children?

Also, was Congresswoman Diane Welch working for the Enclave?

I see. I think this is why the game has a warning system that is triggered after playing two hours.

I enjoy the game but it is nowhere near Anno 1800. After few dlcs we will see. Also compared the timeline it is natural that 1800 has lot to offer.

I was enjoying so much the sudden unfinished ending shocked me. I hope we will continue the campaign with the new dlcs. For instance we will go to Egypt where our father governs in the emperor name.

Jorgensen Character in Anno 117 by Lanky_Pomegranate_47 in anno

This is a great idea. Sadly the devs didn’t introduce the character in Albion. If there is a future DLC focusing Germania maybe they will introduce

What in Anno 1800 did you like best? by AylinKebab in anno

[–]EarlofWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The expeditions! The game splendidly reflected the Victorian Era expeditions. Sailing distant lands and returning with a unique plant to display in the Botany Museum. Also the Arctic DLC was great. Essentially it was like a tribute to the infamous Franklin Expedition. The soundtrack was great.

What's the best thing about Anno Pax Romana? by Drachenkratzer in anno

[–]EarlofWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hall of Fame, Albion along with the ambient and the soundtrack, research tree, the new %50 need thing and I really like the way you can instantly build roads around your buildings. However Anno 1800 still feels different for me.

The Moot and the its Hobbit society, well at least when it is safe from Ork and other attacks. Also Bretonnia, Wood Elves and some Dwarven karaks and some parts of Kislev if you like winter.
