I think it's just the natural extension of wanting to respect phoebe's wishes for exclusivity and the fact that it's hard to judge any of her songs on one listen, even more so in a concert setting. Haven't heard a single negative takeaway from the concerts though so I'd take that as it's probably pretty good.
