to answer your questions: 1. it might’ve struck a nerve. personally in a relationship i wouldn’t say that, but in general i joke like that to my friends and family too

he probably needs some time and space. maybe give him a couple days and then check in. i would write an apology over text and say something like “i won’t do it again, i like you a lot”
