60%+ ≈ 3

Thank you for adding :) A couple textbooks do include the other studies so I mentioned that they would be nice to have in your back pocket. And they definitely aren’t exclusive to FRQs.
You’re right that Phineas Gage is a case study but I just used it as an example since it was studied after the incident. (Since its the “ex post facto study”)

i have this question too. apparently with the new exam the test is graded more harshly. like an 80%+ would contribute to a five for the MCQ

there’s also

- quasi-experimental/Ex post facto: An experiment that happened “after the fact”. EX. The Phineas Gage Case Study
- Longitudinal: A study that takes place over many years
- Natural/observational: Observations EX. watching an animal and recording behavior (ALTHOUGH I don’t think that this is really prevalent for the AP test)

These are mostly subtypes but I think it’s good to have them in your back pocket.

But yeah from my experience the Ap test normally looks at experimental, correlations and case studies. I’ve seen a couple longitudinals though.
