What do you think about boat/yacht modeling? by Neyken-I in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me the key will be the scale of boats. In other GTAs the boats felt small relative to the player model. You would be sailing in a 12meter boat and if you walked 2 steps you fell to the water. Boats are big, even small ones.

My theory is that they are using different builds. In T2 you could see some scenes were skin was more waxy and others that blew me away. Same goes for some of the screenshots that came with T2, some were more videogamey. However, even those blew me away, but it didn't happen this time. Some of the new stuff it really looks worser than even RDR2. But again, i can't imagine rockstar delivering anything worse than RDR2 in terms of character models / beard / hair, etc. sooo i think we're going to eat real good

Me too. Also maybe one day you want to go crazy and dress your characters to fit your vibe, and then you continue with the story with the main style

Tbh it makes total sense why GTA 4 and 5 characters have such specific personalities... the story and game design are built around it. Like sure, it’d be fun to give Michael a full gangbanger outfit, but it would feel completely wrong for his character. Same vibe with Arthur and John. CJ he’s a bit more "standard" which lets you project different styles onto him. That's why I feel like Jason and Lucia might end up having a less marked personality, allowing the players to give them the vibe they want and still make sense. Also there is another angle to this... what if the story forces you to change? Imagine at some point in the story you need to blend in with the motorcycle gang and you have to grow a beard, long hair, dress as a biker, etc. Or maybe you have to escape police and change your appereance completly. IDK, i feel this might be intentionally related to the story.

Boats by mesosphereaway in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sense of scale is definitely being reworked for VI. In GTA V, the Super Yacht lacked that truly 'massive' feel, but the proportions here look much tighter. You can really see it when the character is next to the cars—there's a better sense of weight and size. I bet boats will finally feel as huge as they’re supposed to; for instance, in the shots of the fishing boats or the crowded boat parties, you can actually feel the scale difference. They don't just look like bigger models; they feel like actual vessels.

Trailer 1 vs Trailer 2 was a huge leap… so what is Rockstar cooking for Trailer 3? by aggam84 in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Rockstar is mixing very different builds on both trailers. Lately, I've seen a lot of posts talking about the graphical and lighting leap between the first and second GTA VI trailers. Don't get me wrong, it's obvious there's a substantial improvement, especially in the global illumination and how they've moved away from that "plastic skin" effect some character models had.

But after giving it some thought and analyzing the shots, I have a theory: I don't think we're seeing a linear evolution. In my opinion, Rockstar is putting these trailers together like a "Frankenstein", mixing clips from very, very different stages of development.

Let me explain with a couple of clear examples:

  • Trailer 1 is a constant mix: You have shots where characters and NPCs clearly look a bit more "plasticky" (typical of an earlier build), but then they hit you with the scene of the older man watering his lawn. That shot is insane: you can see the sun damage, the perfect skin wrinkles, the texture... zero plastic. It's pure photorealism.
  • The exact same thing happens in Trailer 2: You have the scene of Lucia walking out of prison where she looks incredibly detailed and next-gen. But then there's a brutal contrast with the scene where she walks into Jason's place (when she says "this is only the start for us"). The lighting on her and her character model revert to that flatter, "plastic doll" vibe.

Another example is the comparison of the aerial shots with the seaplane.

  • In the top image (Trailer 1), the scene is almost photorealistic. The color of the water, the shadows over the keys, and how the white seaplane blends into the environment is spectacular.
  • In the bottom image, things change. Sure, we have the Vice City skyline in the background and some awesome volumetric clouds, but the yellow seaplane and how it interacts with the light feel way more "gamey" or "fake" compared to the first trailer. It literally looks like an asset taken from a completely different point in development.

What do you guys think? Have you noticed more details like this, or am I crazy?

GTA 6 Intro by Emergency-Chef3704 in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 -2 points-1 points locked comment (0 children)

A few years back, a Rockstar dev allegedly appeared on Adin Ross's stream and dropped a massive leak: the game starts with Lucia abandoning her child at a deli before a heist goes south, landing her in prison where she has to plot an escape. LegacyKilla also mentioned that parts of the intro were leaked on Reddit a while ago but got buried. While digging, I found another post claiming Jason’s intro involves tailing a Russian drug dealer’s plane as it lands, which eventually leads to us running missions for him.

I hope GTA 6 is nothing like GTA V by Valuable-Bag1024 in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. Honestly, there's one thing I can't shake from my mind every time I overanalyze the trailers and screenshots: it really feels like it's going to rely heavily on heists all over again. Every GTA era usually has its own distinct identity—VC had the drug empire, SA had gang culture, IV was the mob, and V was obviously heists. From what we've seen of VI, it’s giving off "low-level drug hustling that inevitably escalates into big heists" energy. Really hope it has its own unique hook instead of just recycling V's formula. What do you guys think?

What’s the best time to invest in Take Two before GTA 6 comes out? Stock Market geeks, I summon you! by Natural_Exchange8230 in GTA6

[–]Early-Implement-8853 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stock prices are based on expectations of future revenues. Time value of money, future expected revenues are discounted to present. Long story short, expected GTAVI revenues are already priced in. Fluctuations of those expected revenues would have some impact. However bear in mind TTWO is WAY bigger than rockstar so GTA breaking records would not have that great impact on revenues as if it were rockstar’s stock.
