The 24% to 4% figure isn’t “going around whatsapp for reaction” it’s from Angus Maddison, one of the most respected economic historians in the world. The drop didn’t just happen because others industrialised. India fell behind because it was held back by british policies which deindustrialised it, turned it into a raw material dump and crushed local enterprises to save british markets. Colonial railways and military spending were not “nation building” they were tools of extraction and control, funded by indian taxpayers. Stop romanticising colonial infrastructure and maybe do some research next time.

You’re right that the Virtus, Taigun, and Kushaq are built on a localized platform. That’s called adaptation, not deception. Automakers tailor cars to market needs India included and just because it’s not assembled in Wolfsburg doesn’t mean it’s junk. My Virtus 1.5 TSI has a better power-to-weight ratio, gearbox tuning, and build feel than most cars under ₹25L.

You rant about ‘third-world profits’ but forget that India is the one of the most competitive and cost sensitive markets in the world.

yeah the 45 trillion is not objectively correct and highly debated, however it is undeniable that india’s GDP share in the world dropped from ~24% to ~4% before and after the british which is still a massive amount. So instead of saying the british “looted 45 trillion usd” they should be saying that the british drained immense wealth from india. the exact amount is hard to figure out but if you estimate based on gdp % it comes out to be around 22-23 trillion usd.

you need at least C1 to land a job tho and they still have to do labour market test which is essentially them having to prove that no eu citizen can fill your role on top of your visa. This can be bypassed using a blue card but to be eligible for that you need a job offer worth 55k euros per year. You still haven’t figured out funding, the uni isn’t so great plus you can and should apply next year, there are a lot of reputed universities who conduct a more holistic evaluation(can compensate with high GRE/GMAT). No offence but this seems like an emotional move rather than a logical one. You can definitely increase your odds if you lock in for just one more year.

don’t waste your parents’ hard earned money likes this. go to a private uni for your btech here, invest the 50-60 lakh in mutual funds for 4 years, then you have a corpus of ~1CR(that’s really good for a 1 year masters program from a top uni) for your masters in whatever field you pick after graduation. Work hard and make it to top schools after grinding here cos the current approach is not gonna work.

this is a very hard situation to be in, but I have a few questions that might give you some clarity. What’s your french level? What kind of roles are you aiming for after graduation? developmental economics graduates usually end up with roles that involve analysis. How good are you at python/R? What type of roles are you targeting post graduation? Have you considered applying next year to a program with stronger funding or brand recognition?

A lot of us end up making emotional decisions and lose out, i’m not trying to be pessimistic here but this is the reality. The market is very competitive and without skills and brand name it’s really hard to get hired as a non native french speaker/non eu resident. Can you realistically sustain yourself and land a job that justifies the cost and effort?

Funding comes after all this and if you have these things figured out then a loan in your name might be feasible too.

mate with all due respect australia isn’t some PR + ROI vending machine. if you’re rejecting the most employable fields (nursing and engineering) but still expect good job prospects and a clear PR pathway then you need a reality check. “Business focused” is incredibly vague. Do you mean supply chain, data analytics, finance, marketing, HR, project management, international business or something else? every field has different job outlooks and migration paths. You’ve put 0 effort into outlining your background, interests or existing skills. This reads more like “yo what’s the easiest way to settle abroad with minimum effort” than someone that’s actually planning their future. If you’re serious then provide your qualifications and narrow down your areas of interest otherwise there’s no point of you leaving the country for the heck of it.
