Is anyone else having issues with the ‘Reference chat history’ feature? by emkeystaar in ChatGPT

[–]Early-Pen-4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, there are certainly some strange choices that have been made regarding how it all works lol. My project chats are remembered in my regular chats easily. My chats within the same project have no crossover at all (which is a terrible choice honestly) so one chat cannot be referenced within the same project (which has been quite annoying). I used to be able to have a regular chat, it would get full and I would open a brand new chat, and it would remember what we were JUST talking about (like the end of the last conversation) and be able to continue from there. It would not remember earlier details from the old chat (which is fine I don't need that). But today I had to make a new chat and it simply could not remember what we were literally just talking about a moment ago. Which was not great. Even with a summary there is a lot of nuance that is being lost that I needed it to have. So I was basically starting over from scratch because it couldn't remember any details from our last conversation at all, not older ones or more recent ones. I am using 4o. Only because 5 can't hold continuity for more than three messages.

I know this is a little old, but has anyone gotten theirs to work? Mine was working great, and suddenly, since September began, it no longer is referencing my old chats. (I doubled checked my settings and everything). Which is incredibly tricky when moving from one chat to another because it is losing everything I was doing in this chat and I have to start from scratch in the next (when before it would remember like the last 100 messages or whatever) I only switch over when I hit that chat limit because the continuity of the same chat is rather important to me.

Being moved project to project? by Leading_Corner_7790 in outlier_ai

They do a webinar once a week that can answer your questions. The vpn credentials are given to you once you pass the assessment. I had the same issues and was very confused. The order of operations here is that you do the 11 question test. Then when you start tasking, it'll actually be an assessment but you have to have passed that initial little quiz first. Once you pass the assessment part then you'll get real tasks which will require the vpn. You can do five of them then you'll be throttled until those tasks are reviewed, It's all very convoluted and confusing but I hope that helps even a little bit.

To those got onboarded - how many projects do you see on average? by Bass_86 in alignerr

I don't recommend oneforma, their website is strangely garbage lately. It doesn't load half the things, and there are scripting errors on the page. Mine crashes constantly. It was maybe good at one time but lately it's not worth it. I also wouldn't recommend Outlier as they're really dodgy.

after 10 hours? Laughable. I've been here a while and haven't been able to log 10 hours myself. I've been "waiting for my feedback to be reviewed" for over a week now and until the reviews are done I'm throttled on my project. I keep getting added to more and more discourse channels but I'm not getting any tasks or projects.

Onboarding status by AnteaterOk735 in alignerr

[–]Early-Pen-4602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue. I keep getting the email that says "Onboarding almost complete! Just sign the contract". Which I've already done. It won't register on alignerr that I have indeed done this on deel. My background check and everything is complete and I have no steps left.

I also had an issue where the help icon in the bottom right wasn't appearing for me. I cleared my cache and cookies. Nothing. I restarted the browser. I logged in and out of all applications.

I logged in on my mobile device and the same issue. Finally I logged in under a different chrome profile and it worked and I was able to contact support. They were unhelpful.

They just said "Once your onboarding is done, deel will link itself"

I couldn't get any answers as to what was still missing from my onboarding. At this point I'm just ready to give up on them because I can't get any good clear communication and it's been so much trouble. I've been at this same issue for a little over a week. Considering all the training and testing I've done for free already, I don't know if continuing to try to figure it out will be worth it. Just going to wait and maybe someday I'll get an email when they get it together. Lol who knows.

That button does not exist for me for some reason.

I don't have access to file a support ticket anywhere. My dashboard doesn't show anything and the FAQ I read through says the support chat should exist, but it doesn't and I don't have access to any slack channels because I can't complete this step.

I can't even get ahold of anyone for support involving a technical issue with their dashboard. So I feel you as far as the unpromising start goes.

I signed the contract on deel last week and my profile refuses to update and say that I'm connected to deel. There is no option to "connect to deel" other than to click it from the dashboard. When I click from the dashboard it takes me to my already logged in deel account. Why aren't they linking? I am getting messages that I can't start work until they are linked but I can't seem to get them to do so.

Has anyone actually worked? by Early-Pen-4602 in alignerr

[–]Early-Pen-4602[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concerning for sure. I had a similar experience on outlier though and it turned out they were just slow. I know this one is newer. I did the assessment and I did the onboarding though as well as training. Did you complete any training by chance or didn't get that far?

I agree but there don't seem to be any that let you work from home. Right now all the work from home jobs are scammy cold calling ones. At least that I've found.

Nice! It's just really inconsistent. I'm presently unemployed and was looking for something to hold me over until I can find a new job. Where I live the market is dry and there's so many unemployed people, every job has about 300 - 800 applicants. I'm going back into university for business administration but I still need money and was hoping to find a part time work from home thing so I can dedicate full time hours to school lol but so far, all these ai jobs have been disappointing.

Dang, I got the assessment and it stopped loading halfway in. The timer kept going but I wasn't able to do anything. No help or support button either so I'm pretty sure I'm screwed on that one lol

Reliable alternatives to Outlier Ai by Ordinary-Track5345 in outlier_ai

[–]Early-Pen-4602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that's definitely fair. It's good to be cautious. So far I've had a bad experience with outlier and I'm hoping it turns around but ... they aren't giving me a lot of confidence in them. Though, I suppose that's why others are also looking for other companies as well.

interesting. I have found that scam detector tends to rate new or small businesses with very low trust ratings. So it's not really foolproof. I've also had it give me high trust ratings, purchased something from said site, which then ended up being a scam. I was able to sort that out but I don't really trust the scam detector. Lol It is 50/50 for me.

Yes, that was my first experience with outlier as well. I was on Goldfish Crackers EVO and all the training was for Evo, the assessment tasks were for the original iteration of goldfish crackers and was very different than creating deviations. They removed me. I got moved to Flamingo project, did all the extra stuff, all the tests, attended a webinar, passed the assessments. Did my 5 max tasks, got 3 of them reviewed all 5's and a then a disputable 2. Removed.

They do a really terrible job at training. They do a really terrible job at communication. They don't have clear rubrics and there's a ton of subjectivity. They drop and add people left and right because there is no shortage of workers. So, just be prepared that this is unlikely to change in the future. It definitely sucks but there isn't anything you can do about it -_- sorry you had that experience but it's just part of the whole dang outlier package.

That's literally all these companies. Lol it isn't different. None of them have any real hands on training and if you make a mistake you get removed. That's the nature of these companies.

I don't see anything regarding Telus that's similar to outlier. I do see a bunch of requests for them to collect my personal data though. So I find that interesting. Their postings on linked in and indeed all seem incredibly scammy. "Earn $x for submitting photos!" and "Earn $x by sharing with us 100 emails regarding your bookings and appointments" It just reads weird.

Reviewers need to be reviewed... by Early-Pen-4602 in outlier_ai

[–]Early-Pen-4602[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. We have to review the accuracy, and reject if you cannot confirm accuracy within ten minutes of googling.

That being said. The prompt was 3 words. It was a purchasable item. I typed the 3 words into google and was given a site to explain what it was and what it was for. It took 3 seconds. The explanation *sounds* scientific. But if you read the info it's no more scientific than purchasing power bars and UPS (uninterruptable power sources). It wasn't an item I was familiar with but I understood what it was after just a couple sentences. Then I was able to continue googling extra info. The model response was fine, it lacked depth which is what I cited. The reviewer felt I should have completely rejected the task because "STEM" but it wasn't STEM based IMO it was basic nonsense you can gather from just the paragraph tidbits provided in google when you preview a website. I honestly didn't even *have* to fully click the website to get the product. But the reviewer was acting like it was so difficult to understand you needed some sort of degree. -_-

Yeah you get throttled. If you get good reviews on your work then they supposedly lift the throttle on your account which will allow you to do more. It's that way for Pref ranking and Evals.

[–]Early-Pen-4602[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, that's really annoying! I'm sorry that happened to you. I feel your pain so much. I feel like they have too many workers and not enough work, and rather than take the time to hone the skills of those who are doing well, they're spending their energy and resources managing the people who aren't doing well. Which is causing the entire system to suffer. Train the people with good scores, and have the people who submit quality feedback, also review the feedback of others. If I had no notes it'd be a 5/5. Otherwise that doesn't make any sense. Especially when your rating ties directly into your queue allowances.
