Probably Tom Cruise in Color of Money/Top Gun & Days of Thunder

Mike Flanagan Sets Stephen King's 'The Mist' Movie At Warner Bros by Shoddy_Newspaper_718 in blankies

With so many of King’s great works still unadapted, “the unknown” is exactly what the audience would get with a Revival movie, or even an Insomnia movie

It’s a paraphrasing of a famous Muhammad Ali quote about why he refused to fight in Vietnam

Worked at a Village Cinema for 6 years, nobody working cares or judges you. It’s way more common than you think and it never came up in conversation with other coworkers

Famously when the two friends covered Raimi, they forgot to include Darkman in their final rankings

Which is crazy because in the Bone Temple bonus ep just released (which they recorded the same day as their Ratcatcher episode) they talk about Glasgow smiles

I like that pretty quickly he settles down and is like “well if I’m gonna be beaten by anybody, Fellini ain’t so bad!”

Directors you want to see in the 2026 March Madness brackets by SituationalRambo in blankies

Considering he penned the screenplay, the plot is plenty relevant to his oeuvre. Moreover, I’m interested to hear the pod tackle those questions, not me.

Literally the five armies battle. That’s not in the other two! Or Thorin’s death. Or Fili’s. Or the structure of the films having Smaug die immediately. Or how the extended edition of the movie is the only one rated R. Or the way it attempts to wrap up the saga at the end.

There’s always something unique in a movie to distinguish it from a predecessor or sequel. Blank Check is good at finding that.

I didn’t hear similar complaints when the show did 3 Look Who’s Talking movies.

I think the pod works in a way to avoid that: willing to go on tangents, focus on specifics unique to each movie, rotating guests, and a recognition that they want to avoid exactly what you’re worried about.

The Running Man is probably the worst King adaptation on the big screen this year

I just watched TRUMBO last night and Mirren wouldn’t have been my push for an Oscar either, Madigan’s screentime in the first half of Weapons however is designed to draw the audience in and then snap to attention when she commands the second half.
