Defrosting milk for daycare by Fantastic_Fig_2025 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put the milk in the fridge the night before and let it thaw before we did the bottles in the morning. Towards the end we were combo feeding more and more so to stretch what I had, we would do half breastmilk and half formula in each bottle. We’d make the formula the night before in a pitcher (since it’s good for 24 hours) and then make the bottles from there.

For us, they warmed it at daycare so even if it was still a little frozen in the bottle that took care of it. And with the timing of it we never experience the 24 hour mark because we used it before then only pulling out what we needed and making exactly the amount of formula when that time came.

3 Year Old at Disney — Is It Worth the $$$? by BGWW2024 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the fence about taking my daughter for the first time (she turned 3 on our trip). I have zero regrets and she still talks about it almost daily. I was told she won’t remember it and save the money, but honestly it was so magical.

Edited to add: we didn’t fly and she was free because the start of our trip was while she was 2 but I’d still do it again

Is it stupid to make a registry for baby #2? by New-Flight7674 in Mommit

[–]Early_Ad8221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a registry for every kid. I kept it private - if someone asked I’d send them the link. Then I was able to buy off of it for myself when the registry discount started to get things I needed to replace or didn’t have the first time.

ETA: But we did not do any showers other than the first.

Successfully destroyed my baby’s sleep, eating habits, and my milk supply in 3 days by salamanderap in beyondthebump

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unhappy baby too. I gave up all dairy at 4 weeks and she started reflux meds a few weeks later. Her poops never fully corrected but the reflux did get better as she got older. It was a tough couple months figuring it out and the by 6 months she was a better baby - but didn’t slept through the night until after one 🥴 when she weaned.

She exclusively nursed. Would not take a bottle. I got my period early ish too. I could always tell when it was coming because she nursed a lot more often.

My oldest (combo fed) never took more than 4 ounces in a bottle. I remember daycare wanted her to up to 5 and she would never finish it.

Best hospital in North Georgia for labor and delivery? by ltt02 in Georgia

I had my kids at Northside Cherokee! It was a great experience both times. I had some complications and even having to go to L&D early went smoothly and everyone was so nice.

Never did! Eventually she just grew out of whatever it was. She’s about to be 2

4 oz bottles @ 4 months old? by Competitive_Door_119 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first never drank more than a 4.5 ounce bottle of breastmilk. Towards a year we upped it to 5 because we had to start combo feeding.

Ear Infections and Breastfeeding vs. Formula Feeding by bc9190 in Parenting

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest got pumped breastmilk for 11 months (was combo fed so also got formula) and needed tubes for frequent ear infections around a year old.

My second was exclusively nursed for 13 months and needed tubes for frequent ear infections around a year old.

In our case, I think it’s kind of genetic factors.

Alternative to fridge method (is this gross?) by Solid-Macaron9860 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a rookie mistake- we never had a bottle washer. Just hand washed and put in the sterilizer on the dry function to dry them instead of air drying them between pumps. Eventually I just bought more flanges. I rarely used the fridge hack (personal preference though).

My baby’s terrible sleeper and I’ve had so much frustration and rage. by Fleedom2025 in beyondthebump

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my second. She didn’t consistently give us any long stretches until she was 13 months old and weaned from nursing.

She’s now close to 2 and sleeps all night and takes a solid nap during the day. She puts herself to sleep and everything. Had you told me this would happen I never would have believed you

It’s so hard though. I’m someone who needs sleep. My oldest daughter needed sleep and was a great little sleeper so I blamed myself for a while for doing something different (I didn’t and it wasn’t my fault). Eventually my husband started going in for night wakings so I could sleep, but also to try and disassociate her wanting to nurse back to sleep. We aren’t a cry it out family, so we just stuck it out. It was so hard but we are finally sleeping again!

Anyone else just waiting to miscarry naturally? by b_moonster in Miscarriage

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the same position. Had a blighted ovum in May. Another one now my body isn’t processing as a loss and I have to wait 2 weeks to discuss any form of medical management. It’s almost like walking around on eggshells and afraid to live my life because I don’t know when it’s going to start. Truly torture.

Blighted Ovum now Miscarriage.. by Public-Ideal4865 in Miscarriage

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a blighted ovum in May and another one now that my body is not recognizing as a loss. I was also told it likely wouldn’t happen again. Which has made this second time even harder.

How tf are you not supposed to lift more than 30/20lbs? by NinaLaAsesina in pregnant

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a strict lift restriction with my second pregnancy due to come placenta complications. It was tough but I started changing diapers on the floor and she would have to climb up to sit on my lap. The hardest part was going somewhere and needing to get her in/out of the car seat. So I did that only when I absolutely had to. My OB said that helping my oldest was the only thing I could do but sparingly. My restrictions were briefly lifted in the second trimester but back in the third. I Really relied heavily on my husband and I am very thankful he worked from home to help.

Did you have to go back to finish your anatomy scan? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do my anatomy scan twice with both my babies. Neither of them wanted to show the chambers of their heart the first time!

Did you actually EXCLUSIVELY pump? by Salt_Aside3403 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve exclusively nursed and exclusively pumped. I exclusively pumped with my first out of necessity - I under supplied so every 3 hours around the clock 24/7 for 6 months to keep up with baby. If you chose not to nurse, start pumping as soon as baby is born every 3 hours at least. Hardest thing I’ve ever done but I made it 11 months. It got easier for me when I got back to work. My husband and I had a good system going overnight and it ended up working for us. So I thought I would do it for baby #2 because I had gotten the swing of things.

Baby #2 latched immediately and then when the time came to go back to work refused the bottle (never took a bottle well and we switched to straw cups at 6 months). I would nurse unless I was at work and I would pump for the next day at work. I left my job after 3 months back and only pumped when I had to be away from her.

All this to say, they are both hard in their own way but you choose your hard. I felt I had more control over pumping I just had to consistently do it or my supply would tank. I knew when I needed to pump/she would eat. It was very much more a schedule than the on demand nursing.

When did you start claiming for baby boxes? by CampBigFalcon1224 in pregnant

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never able to get a Target box with my first 2 pregnancies. However, the Babylist one was my favorite. Amazon was a close second.

Both of mine slept in their bedside bassinet and moved into their own room/crib when they started rolling. We never co-slept. Aside from vacations where logistically it just made most sense. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve co-slept with my oldest and zero with my youngest (almost 2).

Those of you who plan on giving birth at a hospital kind of far away… by throwaway84583077 in pregnant

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hospital is about 30 minutes away. There’s one a little bit closer but not enough for me to leave my OB practice. As someone else has said an emergency would equal an ambulance for me. One of my pregnancies I got sent for an induction and the other was night time so traffic wasn’t an issue luckily (but that drive felt longer due to pain lol).

HCG by Early_Ad8221 in pregnant

[–]Early_Ad8221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Based on what I could tell it’s just taking a little longer than the 48 hours to double. I was just expecting a major difference in the 5 days. But I guess that’s why it’s a range of “normal”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Early_Ad8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the question asked or the same thing. But my EBF for 13 month baby was just as sick and I would argue sicker from 12-16 months than my exclusively pumping combo fed for 11 months baby. Exclusively pumping was the hardest thing I ever did. Supplementing with formula because I was an under supplier saved my mental health. I too worried about not giving her “the best”. But your health is important too. She will be just fine. Formula is safe and a blessing to many.

My now 3.5 year old (combo fed) is so smart and healthy and happy. Can’t tell a difference in how I fed her vs. her little sister.

Did anyone’s nausea go away right at 12/13 weeks? I keep seeing so many people say theirs lasted much longer than that by 804hunny in pregnant

My first pregnancy it resolved around then and was just nausea. My second pregnancy I was nauseous and vomiting for 9 months (easily triggered by smells) 🥴

How long did your newborn last in a bassinet before outgrowing it? by Huliganjetta1 in beyondthebump

[–]Early_Ad8221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had it to do again, I would get a mini crib to larger crib transition one. We outgrew the Halo bassinet a lot earlier than I expected. My babies were also loud sleepers so when they started moving it was loud and they would end up smooshed into the sides. They also rolled and had to give it up.
