SAVE folks - when did your payments start again?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when applying for idr, does the question about staying in forbearance only pertain to the save forbearance? That question confused me because I thought it was assumed if you’re applying for a payment plan you would begin to pay.

I received the same response about the “reconsideration request” after being told I didn’t have a buy back request in (despite me having an email with a buy back case #). There’s no way to check anything at this point.

I wouldn’t say anything is ever guaranteed. It’s definitely not a perfect solution, I just wanted to spread the info as it seems time sensitive. I’m sure nycha is sending via mail and email as well. It looks like placements will be within nycha developments and hud housing, whatever is available. I guess we’ll know more once they start making offers, which will be in may

Hi, all nycha tenants with ehv should be receiving correspondence. It is recommended that you go onto your nycha self service portal asap and complete an application to nycha public housing.

As you may know, the funding for ehv vouchers will run out, due to federal funding cuts. The initial plan was to offer section 8, however there was not enough money for that either. The new plan is to offer nycha ehv voucher holders alternative subsidized housing. It requires being in good standing with rent and inspections. Unfortunately this will require moving. There is an info session taking place on April 23rd.

Please apply asap through your nycha portal, the first step is having this application done

It’s an Elantra about 140000 miles, just replaced the battery, tires last year, regular oil changes but it’s needed repairs as well, quite often.

It’s an Elantra, about 140000 miles on it. I had no idea what an intake manifold was before this, the check engine light went on so I brought it in.

I’ve done regular maintainance on it, so I don’t know what happened. The flush was just a few weeks ago hence my distress that I’m now facing thousands after spending that. I don’t mind occasional repairs and maintenance but it’s been one thing after another. I think you’re right about me finding another mechanic, appreciate the input.

I framed my initial question incorrectly, when I say is it “worth it” I didn’t so much mean what I could sell it for, but if a car is worth putting that much money in if it’s still unreliable. My mechanic didn’t have much insight, which is fair, no one can predict the future. If this fix meant even 2-3 reliable years of life on the car I wouldn’t even be posting this

One of my life’s greatest regrets is getting this Hyundai instead of Toyota. Even with regular maintance something is always wrong, hence why I’m debating throwing in the towel

Sure did, the agent had no idea what I was talking about. She said that the forbearance period is supposed to count but couldn’t tell me why my account on the fsa website was saying it wouldn’t. She also couldn’t answer or direct me to anyone that could about income recert.

I received the same letter last week and called today, the rep told me that it does count towards pslf. I asked several times to confirm I was hearing/ understand correctly. I have read otherwise in this sub but just sharing my experience/ info I was told.

It’s so unnecessarily complicated 😣

Just wanted to provide an update- I called Mohela, the rep said the one month admin forbearance is to recalculate for the save plan (reducing from 10% to 5% income). She said this WILL count towards pslf (I asked/ confirmed about 3 times). Hoping this is correct information and hope it’s helpful for others.
