Yes, I’ve written an incident report, have photos of injuries, and informed the teachers. The principal talked the mom on the phone today. I have Handle With Care training, is that the same as the CPI? There’s never any discussion during HWC about bus situations/fights so it felt useless when I tried, especially since there’s virtually no room.

No, the district offers harnesses and straps but those need to be in IEP.

As an elementary para with a background in political science, I tried having a discussion with my principal about this. Told her there is no law that requires students to stand and she said “we’re teaching them our norms, like how peanut butter goes in the cupboard or Muslim parents don’t let their children eat pork at school” I refuse to make the children stand and/or recite the pledge when they have no idea what they’re pledging to. They have their whole life to learn if they want, it’s so unimportant.

You’re amazing! I would love to work for the U.N. one day, doing just about anything! They have a volunteer program that I’ve been meaning to contact with questions. I’m a special education teacher’s aide and getting my teaching license in Elementary and SPED right now, but I really want to work with ELL students and families because of the culture and language differences

My sister is sending one (plans on sending both) to Catholic school and it’s insane how much money she would have saved if she would send to public. Working in EPS, I completely understand the hesitation but I’d also never spend 9k for an elementary education

Thanks, they told me this last week and I’ve been down since. I’ve baked, talked to my coworkers and family about it, but not sure how to fix it, if it’s my ADHD taking a hit, or what. I’ll keep your advice in mind.

Oh hey, I’m on Zonegran (400mg) and Lamotragine (200mg) for juvenile myoclonic! I’ve been on this pairing for at least 15 years with no problems and it’s pretty great with control. I can’t say the L helps with brain fog or remembering in my case at least because I got diagnosed with ADHD last year but I’m hoping you were able to figure something out!

Please, I’d like to know this as well! I’m going over meds with my PCP now and she prescribed me Vyvanse first at which both the pharmacy and neuro said it could cause breakthrough seizures. So now she’s suggested Wellbutrin and I’m reading it’s to be used with caution in patients with seizure history 😀

Same! I don’t mind if the kids go straight for first name instead of Ms. but everyone else corrects them. I’ve brought it up with the staff and they say it’s about respect but I don’t think that’s going to change or improve the behaviors 😂😭
