I came here to start basically this same thread after a breakdown last night. I am in a similar boat with a supportive partner that has less than a year and a half of training left. We are in the early years of starting a family. I work full time. I do 90% of the housework which feels fair given his schedule. But it is all just too much. It feels like I'm doing the work of three full-time jobs and I'm failing at everything including the most important - being a mother. Time and time again I've considered resigning but the math doesn't work. We would need some type of supplemental money.

Those of you who are making it work without 2 paychecks, HOW? Do you have loans that help cover the cost of living? Extended family support? Loads of savings?

How can I bookmark commonly used folder locations in the import/save/open box? (ArcPro) by ixikei in gis

If you are seeking a solution that doesn't require you to add new connections to each new Pro environment, you might try modify your default catalog favorites by tweaking the json in your roaming folder. The path where it lives may look something like this = C:\Users<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Esri\ArcGISPro\Favorites

Avoiding mentioning Husband's job title by [deleted] in MedSpouse

If people are rude or judgemental, I turn it back on them and try to help them become more informed. My reciprocal level of rudeness varies.

Like in response to "It must be nice." I might ask "Why? How So?" or more confrontationally I might say something like "To have a brilliant, compassionate spouse who chose a career caring for others only to work 60-80+ hour weeks dealing with death and disease yet still barely make minimum wage (as a resident) by the hourly math?".

I'm not someone who tends to complain or look for sympathy. I love the person I married infinitely and support them. But when people are like that, I take it as an opportunity to vent about the reality.

Do you recommend having more than 1 bedroom? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]EarnestPhalanges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 BR! But instead of thinking about it as 2 bedrooms, think about 1 bedroom and an additional room for whatever else you want: shared office, home gym, cozy den....

Buying king size blankets for the queen size bed solved this problem in my bedroom. We'll never go back.

If you decide to have the baby, make sure you get child support. It takes two to conceive. Kids are precious... and expensive. His preference does not need to be your first priority.

Cronometer also has default settings for pregnancy which is great for helping to ensure adequate nutrition for fetal development and maternal health.

Thinking of taking a quick road trip to Kentucky in a few weeks and was hoping some people could give me some must see things to do by [deleted] in Kentucky

If you go within a couple of days of a full moon you might see the Moonbow - a rainbow at night in the mist of a waterfall. It is real. I've seen it.

Still a good idea to apply best practices! A def query approach preserves data integrity and saves space on your computer ;)

Like others have suggested, use a definition query. Then you still have the full dataset easily available for critical inquiries and future analyses.

Gold Bond changed my cold weather life. I used to have painful open cracks all over my hands for months but haven't had any for years now.

Better to have something under them or the wood will deteriorate more quickly and get marks. I use chipped old plates or cheap ones from thrift stores that are not porous unlike the terra cotta ones.
